Generally 6.5-7" is ideal. Really depends on the angles you may be at when traveling.

I run my mini at 1/2 to 2/3 throttle unless I need all the onions for pushing over a tree or moving a huge rock.

Start your cut underneath, then finish on top. Branches fall straight down, not swinging or hang up.

Yup the chain saw blade gets pinched by the weight of the branch. My dad watched me struggle like this on a couple trees and gave the same expert advice you gave

JD: what space between the bed and 5th wheel do you advise. I was in a park in Santa Cruz, CA. The road was off camber and one of the screws on the 5th wheel caught my plastic bed rails. Have some damage. (We all do it lol darn it.) I was able to raise my B&W 5th wheel hitch up one level. Not sure if I should raise the pin box vs the 5th wheel hitch or both. Maybe I missed your video covering this? Tree's are a PIA in my area between the city and home owners the tree's hang out into the roadway. Roof gone in 60 seconds if you don't pay attention. I love tree's just don't want to damage my RV trying to get down the road. You might be better off chipping those branches and throwing it at the base of the tree's. OR areas prone to weed abatement. They will keep moisture and keep the weeds down. This is what my grandfather did around the fence lines on our property.

Trimmed limbs this evening, similar concerns with reaching to cut limbs that may drop on my head if I'm not paying attention. Can you use the thumb to crush some of the branches before packing them into the trailer?
