Transport for London has removed the words "Ladies and gentlemen" from its standard announcements. Our Mika Minio-Paluello explains on Sky News that while this is a step towards inclusivity, a lot more needs to change to make a transport system that's safe for trans and nonbinary people - and for the TfL's own staff and other passengers. Defending transport workers' rights is crucial.

Do me a favour worlds going mad. I understand a trans person needs to be heard and understood but are you telling me that in want to be the opposite sex they are no longer satisfied with this and now want to now impose upon non trans people such as myself there own beliefs. The whole idea that we can no longer politely say good morning ladies and gentlemen in fear of making someone feel left out is madness. Im a man My partner is a lady A trans person is only want to become a lady or a gentleman so where is the problem.

Because an influential, privileged white liberal elite wants you to have no gender, no colour or creed & above all else no sense of self & identity, you're unimportant because minorities (like the "they" above) are more important, next you are no more than a subservient zombie or snowflake entirely under their control. This person has been forcing a baby onto his chest to pretend breast feeding. The social services need to get involved here. The baby gets nothing out of it except rotten chemicals but he gets to get off on pretending to be a breast feeding mother. Absolutely Disgraceful !

The media will jump all over this, they must love him. Children cant get a drink of clean water, we have crisis in the Police and Hospitals ant this cretin thinks THIS is worth fighting for. I don't see what's wrong with "ladies and gentlemen", but I don't like the way "lady" it is used loosely as a substitute for woman like how it can be in the USA, like when some says "the lady at the store", if it was a man they wouldn't say "the gentleman at the store", what's wrong with just saying "woman"? As a feminist, I think "woman" sounds much better in that context. Because feminism is about equality between men and women, it seems sexist towards men how we aren't called "gentleman" much compared to how often "lady" is used for women.
