TBH, I had no clue who she was until lash gate. I just find it funny how many makeup influencers there are, and how huge of a following they get. I wouldn't trust an influencer for honest product reviews because they aren't going to badmouth a product they're being given for free and lose out on PR packages and brand deals, or that they're being paid to promote. Plus most of them all do the same looks, try the same products, say the same things, even make the same videos, and most of it is just fake anyway. Often, even is the drama is fake or exaggerated to boost views.

I struggle with how I feel about Makayla, I sympathize that she has made mistakes that many of us would make if we were in her shoes with so much influence at such a young age. That being said, I would like to see her actually OWN her mistakes before I’m prepared to support her again. I just don’t feel bad for her ngl. Had no idea who she was before the lash sponsorship drama, but idk the whole wedding thing left a bad taste in my mouth imo. If she wanted her wedding to be broadcasted to so many people that’s fine, but it just felt so wrong to see so many influencers making content about a wedding and supporting a person who just straight up lied about a sponsorship and won’t address it.
