‘Natural looking’ definitely doesn’t describe mikayla for sure. Nothing about her says authentic.

everything about her is so fake, I don’t understand how people keep supporting her. she’s acting like it’s so bad when it literally looks like her regular makeup. are we surprised she’s still getting called out when she’s still being problematic? she’s one of those influencers I can’t STAND and clearly there’s reasons.

Honestly I wonder if she’s lowkey sending out a message to brands like “if you don’t pay me i will make sure i leave a bad review and tank your brand” almost feels like subtle blackmail

I think the only review I could take seriously from this was her response to the lipstick. If it feels weird and smells weird, that’s valid. Expecting full glam and full coverage when using "clean girl "/natural makeup is delusional to me. Of course it is going to look awful when you apply multiple layers. It is not made to be worn heavy handed.

If she was a real MUA she’d have the versatility to be able to do a more natural make up look for the brand

But Jeffree KNOWS makeup. He knows what "natural look" means and will judge accordingly. Mikayla clealry or ignorantly has no idea despite literally doing makeup for a living.

Jeffrey Star doesn’t get paid by brands so his opinion is based off his experience not how much he got paid to give a good review. Wayne Goss is better than Mikayla could ever even dream of being

jeffree also researches the brand he critiques and has a LOT of knowledge about makeup and makeup production. he may not be a great person but he knows what he’s talking about

I don’t think Mikayla was honest about these products. I think she is “fishing” for money. She trashes a product so the company feels like they need her on their side so they pay her money and all of a sudden she “loves” the product….money is insane.

As someone who likes natural looking makeup, I'm gonna try Wayne Goss makeup

I definitely feel like she can be paid to give a good review. I think that’s what is really rubbing people the wrong way. I will say when she was promoting her latest collaboration she mentioned some of her products needed to be used in a specific way and if you used them wrong she didn’t want to hear complaints about it. Which is kind of what she’s doing here. She’s using the product in a way they weren’t intended to be used and complaining about it.

See but thats the part, she is NEVER honest, so her being so mean also feels dishonest. So when she goes that hard on her bad reviews after we know how dishonest she is, it feels like shes just being mean for the sake of being mean. Like she really looks like she is just having fun making fun of makeup she knows nothing about, to the point where it gives off “if i dont know about it its clearly not good”. Shes not Jeffree star, we dont expect this behavior from her, so for her to do it out of the blue just feels so gross. Even when she started off and was like “i dont know what this sh*t is”. Ive never seen anyone do that with a product they know nothing about. Even JS who will rip apart a brand if he doesnt like it, he always goes in with “i know nothing about this brand i dont know these products so lets see if theyre up to my standards” it gives more of a “this could be something i love, but well see”. She started with “i already hate all of this”. You could tell what her opinion was off the bat.

The difference with her and Jeffrey Star is how over the top she is and acts like she has no idea what these brands are. She knows the brands, come on lol. I don't get how anyone trusts her. I would trust JS before I would believe her.

The problem is jeffree has ALWAYS been honest and brutal, while Mikayla is finally doing it which is a good start, but we can tell she's trying to be all harsh than she actually should. Like she could have just said she dk the brands but she had to be all "this is a full face of make up i nvr fkin heard of, literally idk what any of this shit is" like that wasn't necessary and people are gonna think she is excessively hating it for the sake of it

I have that Wayne Goss palette. It’s not a highlight and bronzer palette; it’s a contour and bronzer palette, so of course the cool tone is going to be cooler- that’s what contour is for. Also, yeah, for a lighter shade, it is supposed to be buildable (it’s a really pretty product, btw).

This is just yet another example and reason to not trust a word Mikayla ever says!!!

You would think with all of her knowledge on makeup, that she would know that Wayne Goss is all about the natural look. Wayne is the antithesis of heavy-handed, and I know, because I'm a MUA, who has watched his videos for years.

Her whole video was rage bait. She had a crazy attitude for no reason.

I think it really shows that, while she is very talented with glam, she seems to have no skill with natural makeup. I mean, doing a natural look is not that difficult, but she seemed determined to use the products for what they were not intended. 🤨

If you can’t do natural make up naturally then you aren’t a makeup artist.

Cause I have a heavy New York accent, and I went to college in Connecticut and my accent definitely got lighter while I was there… Which was her explanation for why she sounded so different in the videos from her college years a few years ago… But I didn’t sound like a completely different person, and I sure as hell didn’t come back and then get a stronger accent than ever, that sounds nothing like anyone I grew up with.

Mikayla's opinion is based on how much the company would pay her. This is the reason I don't trust her or any beauty influencers who work with a big makeup company. They become money-hungry.

The difference between Jeffrey Starr being mean and ripping into a brand and what she did is that he's ripping into. Have makeup products that he's using as they were intended to be used. She's criticizing products for not doing something that they weren't designed to do in the first place. And that's the difference. She's not being honest because she's not using the products correctly. It's like if she was using makeup to paint a wall. You can't measure make up that way, so make up. That's supposed to give you a natural light. Finish is not supposed to be measured. The same way that you would measure glandmakeup because they do 2 different things.

I love Wayne Goss. His makeup brushes are amazing. I’ve never used his makeup brand, but I enjoy his videos. I’ve been following him for years. He’s a class act.

Not everyone wants to fully cake it on every day like Mikclowna. This is the kind of make up I'd wear to the office to my regular job (bc some people have those that arent super duper hawd influencer jobs). I can't stand Jeffree but when he reviews products its his real opinion and he knows how to do a natural look as well as a glam look.

I think the difference is that jeffree has been open and honest about his opinions and will not bash a product just because it doesn’t “work for him”, if it’s a good product he will admit that, whereas mikaela was bashing it simply because it wasn’t a product that worked well for her, when it still could’ve been good for someone else

At least when she dissed the mascara, she says "This used to be one of my favorites, but now I just know better." It's not much, and lord knows I don't trust her, but at least she's saying she used to like it, and now doesn't. Opinions are allowed to change.

As a very much former Jeffree fan I would like to counter that he would actively look up the descriptions and instructions for what he would use and then drag them if they failed to follow through. He looked into and researched products.

Don’t forget for a single second, that all her makeup looks are filtered and were under bright lights that alter what it really looks in real life or in person. Already a red flag to me, if it’s filtered to a 1000%.

The thing that mikayla doesn’t understand is that she never had to sell herself out. If people were still able to trust her word, it wouldn’t matter if she was paid to promote something. If people know that she was honest with her reviews, even if she was paid, people would Flo to buy the item that she loves.
