This is why I watch KZfaq for makeup reviews and not TikTok. I want thorough reviews with wear tests, natural light pictures and video, no filters, no major edits. If you watch the smaller creators, they seem to be very trustworthy. I haven’t bought something from one of my trusted creators that I didn’t like.

I wasn’t really upset that he didn’t review it, like I didn’t think it was a big deal really, even though he could have not wasted the product. He could’ve at least tried it once. I was just more so disappointed that he fed into the drama. You could tell he was literally just reaching to get some views or something.

I saw a video of someone accusing her of faking her accent because they found old videos of her speaking and it’s WAY different.

I felt bad when she got intense hate and not constructive feedback for lash gate. I also think the brow gel was a first impression so I understood that one BUT WHAT ISNT OKAY- is her poking fun at her drama. I find it incredibly immature of her.

This is the problem with short videos. It's easier to lie and get money. And these people know that. So they make their money and avoid accusations thrown at them because why would they need to? They've got what they wanted and they have come to the point where they care less about what consumers want and more about the fame and the money and the glamour and the brand deals. And this is a problem for the majority of the big beauty influencers even on yt. Before I remember the makeup used to be about the actual looks and the techniques and the fun challenges but now its almost always about the brands- which I get to an extent because reviewing a product is normal. But lying about it is wrong on so many levels especially because it makes the average consumer buy the product and regret it. Not everyone has bags of money lying around to buy every single makeup that is reviewed.
