2:40 mad lad! In my mind, if I touch the brake lever having the caliper off like that, the pistons will come flying out in a bath of gory brake fluid.

Loving your work and completely agree with your opening remarks about track days. Mega fun and slowed me down on the road. I recommend them to every biker

The moto2 engine failure was because the redline was too high from what I was told so they pulled it back a bit and since then no issues. 765 is a solid engine.

What’s your set up for securing and transporting your bike in a van? What do you recommend? Thanks

Hey mate, can you please do a video on what you’ve done to your sv650? I have a 99 sv and I’m slowly building it into a track bike. I noticed you’re still using the stock carbs too. Did you do the 1st and 2nd gen camswap?

@Mike_Abel protect your skin from brake cleaner fluid, it’s quite potent stuff. Good vid. Thanks.

Hiya mate. After advice on my own brake units and more specifically the rear caliper on my 22 ktm 1290 SDR. when applying the brake when out on the road it's as if nothing is there (not even a house dropping on it could work it) and I've worked on my bikes for a quite a while now and never had an issue until this bike. All ktm rider just say there shite but personally I've done all the usual bits from upgraded the pads, cleaned caliper, bled it etc but no go. Been like it from new. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks and great content.

Try taking one caliper off at a time, put an allen key or something between the pads to stop them coming out more, pump the lever while changing the orientation of the caliper (side to side and upside down). This purges the air that can get trapped in the back of the calipers, it makes spongy levers solid, obvs reinstall one before doing the other and start with the left hand side as you would when bleeding them normally. Many people don't realise this is an issue, even some mechanics.

@@HalfdeadRider thank you for the information mate. Assuming work the rear the same way as this is the one I'm having the issues with.
@HalfdeadRider

@@shaney765 no problem, for some reason I didn't realise you were talking about the rear. Most rear calipers are small and don't usually trap air, worth a go though I guess. But also you don't need a strong rear brake, I wouldn't even usually fit sintered pads in the rear as if it was too good, it could cause the rear to lock up too easily, and most times we use the rear is at very low speeds.

@@HalfdeadRiderno worries mate. The Brembo as standard but I changed up to sinister pads and the front will stop on a penny but rear not alot of cop. Tbh it's more for wheel control than anything and for general use its not required but would just like it a lil more responsive. Bled before and after pad change but no change. O well one of those things I guess my man.

@@shaney765 They usually are good on the KTM's, I rode a mates old 2005 (I believe it was), 990 Duke, Brembo's front and rear, the rear had some bite on it, enough to remember, my video also sold the bike for him 😎
