I have had the wonderful experience of seeing aurora in concert,and trust me at the age of 64 I have seen many artists perform live,no one has come close to being as good as aurora,there were times in the concert when you could hear a pin drop as she held everyone there in the palm of her hand as she sang with such emotion,other times the crowd were singing along with her every word as she interacted with them.and then at times she would be so shy as if she really dose not know how good she is,she is indeed one of the most humble and genuine performers who dearly loves her fans,a wonderful human full of love,a special artist singer songwriter yes I would go as far as saying Aurora is a Genius,if there was one song for me that sums up this wonderful girl it's a song that she wrote about one of her best friends who sadly passed away in a car crash, the song is called Why.its the most emotional song I have ever heard trust me you will not stop crying its so moving.stay safe love from the UK 🍏❤️🍏❤️

This is a masterpiece within the masterpiece that the whole concer is itself, this very simple song holds a very powerful and emotional message...and it hits home to anyone that listens to it...haunting, mesmerizing, transporting, super emotional........I don't think anybody would be spared from feeling what she makes you feel.....her Love and Magic are real, she's the Best of the best....... you do some more Aurora........

The Nidaros Cathedral originated as a wooden chapel erected over the tomb of St. Olav, a viking king that later became the patron saint of Norway.The oldest remaining parts of the cathedral are around 850 years old. The tradition of concecrating the king, an ecclesiatical blessing for the king in the performance of his royal duties, is held in the Nidaros cathedral. It is regarded as a national shrine. Archeological excavation has shown that the Nidaros cathedral had stained glass windows in the middle ages. The current stained glass windows was made for the whole of the cathedral between 1908 and 1934, by the artist Gabriel Kielland. This is the most solemn of Auroras concerts, and although it showcases the beauty and depth of her voice and her lyrics, i prefer the more lively of her performances. I recommend the KEXP concert (2018) where her energy levels go through the roof.

She transports you ,for sure. Her voice and her lyrics go to the core of your soul. And you are so right, Ginger, she looks like an angel. You could do "It happened quiet" from the same concert. It's one of her very best performances ever, and one of her most beautiful songs. Then stop the video just as she looks over her shoulder in the end, and you have an Angel right there. Or if you want something very different - go for "The Seed" - the video. Both are epic performances, imo. Thanks for another great reaction, and welcome to Norway, sooner or later.

Some fun facts: There has been a church at the site of Nudarosdomen since construction started in 1070. It is the brurial church of King Olav the Great who was killed in a battle in 1030. Ir was more or less a ruin when reconstruction started in 1869 and ended in 1968 with the last statue installed in 1983! In other words, most of it is fairly new but built according to old knowlegde about the former church. It was at least in part one project of nationbuilding after the union between Denmark and Norway was dissolved in 1814. Now you probably got more information than you wanted!:-)

If you visit Trondheim, then visiting Nidarosdomen is a must. It is a beautiful and impressive cathedral. It's actually because of Nidarosdomen that I learned about Aurora. It's not allowed to take pictures inside and so I googled after the visit for some good pictures and also got suggested a youtube link to the concert of Aurora. As addicted to music as I am, I clicked and the rest ist history. Just love that young lady, else being mostly a (symphonic-)metalhead. This year I had planned to attend the Olavsfest at Trondheim, with Aurora performing, just outside the Nidarosdomen. Because of Corona, this was not possible, the whole event got cancelled and for me, travelling to Norway wasn't possible anyway. If you plan to travel to Norway in 2021 and if you plan to be there on August 1 and if travel and events are possible, then plan to be in Trondheim, the cancelled Aurora show is now planned for that date. Aurora live is an experience. I can call myself lucky to have seen her live in my country in 2019.

Thank you for doing this performance, it hits me in the heart and soul every time I listen to it (so does many of the other performances from this particular concert) - I really like 'It happened quiet' from the same concert, its another one that will pierce your heart with her stunning vocals. Look forward to hearing (And seeing! I loved watching your reaction to this one Ginger!) more of your reactions to Aurora. And if you like unique churches, make sure one of your stops in Norway is to an 'Stavkirke' (Stave Church I guess in English) they are stunning architecturally. According to Google there is 28 open to the public out of the original over 2000 that existed, but are stunning. And as much as I love the stained glass in Notre Dame, the church that blew me away for stained glass is Sainte-Chappele located just a few hundred meters from Notre Dame on the same island in Paris. I would imagine for a stained glass artist that church would be even more incredible.

@mariopardillo86183 жыл бұрын
Yes! I knew you would love this! She also does an acoustic version which will also blow you away - (Live) - Stripped (Vevo UK LIFT). Any song from this concert is worth listening to. She is about 20 years old here (she's 24 now). Also you might want to check out The Seed or The River or Daydreamer. And once again I will recommend her cover of David Bowie's "Life on Mars". She performs it at this concert in Nidarosdomen, but there is another version that she performs while accompanying herself on the piano. Both are excellent - maybe others can make suggestions as to which they prefer. One of the really cool things about Aurora is that she has almost total control on the arrangement and production of her songs, so you will often see her perform the same song in somewhat different ways. Reacting to 2 versions of the same song might be fun!

@@MikeandGinger Oh yes. Then there is the press conference before the Nobel Peace Prize concert, when she took a pine cone with her to help her focus and ease her nerves. She is endlessly fascinating.

I love 'Daydreamer', it has such a powerful message! 'Warrior' and 'the seed' are more upbeat songs as well, and they are awesome too. @@Lu_Lorero Aurora also says it is her happiest song. Here is the new song including the original musicvideo from Aurora for the Norwegian advent callender TV series: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/areae9Oans69h3k.html The song is in her native language, Norwegian. "Star Dust" is about Jo, a boy of nine years, who experiences that his parents are going to divorce. He has to move with his mother and siblings to a new place, and experiences a difficult beginning in the Christmas month. Jo is very interested in the stars and the universe, he loves hockey and is captain of his team. Jo's father, Steinar, is an astronomer, and together they often look up at the starry sky. Jo learns that Nordstjerna ( North Star ) is the guiding star he can always follow. Jo is described as sensitive, but instead of talking about what is difficult, he escapes, gets tough and hard, and pushes people away. When he misses his father, and when things get difficult in the new place, he finds Nordstjerna again. But suddenly Jo discovers that the star goes out. Shortly afterwards, Jo finds a girl named Elly in the attic. She is described as strong, fearless and with a well-developed competitive instinct. Elly comes from a fairytale people called the "Star People" in the North. It is as far north in the world as it is possible to get, just below Nordstjerna. Elly is the star child, the one who gives power and light to the North Star. She has magical powers that allow her to control snow and ice, and she does not feel cold. Elly can not get home again until Nordstjerna lights up, and she needs help from Jo. Jo and Elly have different skills, challenges and longings. As always love your reactions 👍 I don't know if you have reacted to Susanne Sundfør. Yes another amazing norwegian singer 🙂 She was a friend of Lene Marie Fossen who was a norwegian photographer-artist. The song "When the Lord" was written to the documentary about Lene, and the music-video is from the documentary. it's a different music-video for sure; sad, heartbreaking beautiful and a great tribute to a kind soul and a really great artist kzfaq.info/get/bejne/Z9WHeaacyMrRin0.html Sadly Lene died only 33 years old. She was only 10 years old when she decided to stop eating and struggled with anorexia the rest of her life. She chose to be open about her disease and is best known for her beautiful and revealing self-portraits. Her soulful portraits of victims of the refugee crisis on the island of Chios in Greece also bear witness of a unique photographer and artist. Lene Maries last wish was that her work should be shared with as many people as possible. My photographs are not about Anorexia she said. They are about human suffering.

@@mikekaraoke we are actually in Canada. I think it unlikely we will make it to the UK in the next couple years. But when we do, we’d both like to see Wales, and some of the area south of the Bristol Channel. We like the countryside. - G

Maybe it's time for you to react to some of the darker sides of Norwegian music? It would bring me joy to listen to Gorgoroth, Beauty, and Prosperity, live at Wacken 2008 with you.
