The slide is obviously from applying shift lock but they dont mention it... Its the most important part of the technique. Also he disengaged clutch AFTER turning the wheel.

Anyone know why mikko didn't heel toe/rev match when downshifting into the turn? Is it because he wanted the rear to lock up slightly when releasing the clutch quickly?

@@l0stcluster2 Yeah interesting yeah. So its part of his driving style to use that slight rear lockup as a kinda handbrake effect.

@@Buckfast_Berserker true. as long rear is slower than front. u may call it handbrake effect. tsuchiya call it shift lock

On a track you might not want that, but I can see how it would work well to slow the car down on gravel without locking the fronts like the brakes might do.

Actually it drifts very good. I did stage two on it and LSD.
