Episode Description
#Primm, Nevada is located just 30 minutes from Las #Vegas and has quite an interesting history and story to tell. Buffalo Bill's has long been the most iconic casino in Primm, however it has been closed since March, 2020. Thankfully Buffalo Bill's has risen from the dead for 2023 and I'll show you what it looks like today.
In this full Buffalo Bill's Primm property #tour I'll take you inside and outside of the recently reopened property. We'll take a detailed look at the casino plus the hotel, arena, buffalo shaped pool and all of the rides including the famous Desperado roller coaster. Find out what is coming back and what isn't plus why my tour gave me great hope for this beloved property.

NorCal/S Or. here... I didn't even know Primm existed before I RV'd for a winter in LV back in '11/'12, and spent a couple nights there in and out. Didn't see the mall and the rides weren't running but I enjoyed the kitchy American Old West theming across the properties and loved walking the floors (shots of the 'tree bar' bring back memories!). And I'm pleased the B&C display is back from whatever tour its been on (didn't see if the wall of items Pete's had is back as well). Whenever I manage another trip out that way, definitely hoping they're back up in full swing. It's honestly a fantastic alternative/bonus to the "full meal" experience of Vegas. 😀

As a 90’s kid Those motion simulator rides and arcade were awesome to experience. Wish I had more recordings of those experiences at their height. The development during the “Family Friendly” Vegas era was something else.

I stopped here on Christmas Day to donate and help support their comeback. Ended up winning $60 instead. Used some of it to eat at the only food place that was open, the Wagon Wheel Grill. I wonder if they are planning to open the buffet. I will definitely return if they open the rides or the buffet! Also want to add that Primm is an ideal location for visiting Mojave National Preserve and you want traditional lodging without having to drive all the way back to Las Vegas.

I was born and raised in Salt Lake City UT, and in 1995, my dad bought a condo in Oceanside, CA with the intent of it being a vacation rental and eventual retirement home. Every year in July from 1996 to 2003, my family would drive from Salt Lake to Oceanside on I15, and we would bring my cousin who was also my best friend, along with my 2 older brothers. We stayed at Primm every year on the way there. I have the most fond memories of the log flume with its shooting gallery, the awesome arcade, the turbo drop, and obviously the Desperado roller coaster. I'm 37 now and hope that one day Buffalo Bills will be restored to its former glory so others can experience what I remember. Thanks for the nostalgia.

Thank you for sharing this, my father had Parkinson's, Buffalo Bill's was the only casino that I would take him to he would say "the crab tables are close to the first floor rooms which made it so easy for him to walk there with his walker. He would pay crabs for hours he would win more than lose. They would call him and say you haven't been here in a couple of weeks if you come will pay for your gas to and from, all your meals, and comp you 2 to 3 rooms for the weekend. I have wonderful memories, I miss him SOOO much great times at Buffalo Bills.

My girlfriend and I didnt get off work till 5pm Friday evening, so we would leave Pasadena CA around 8pm and stay Friday night at BB instead paying the higher prices at MGM for just a few hours. So BB became our overnight stay from 11:30pm Friday, than leaving for Vegas around 11am Saturday morning with only 40 minutes of drive time to Vegas. The best part was BB coffee shop before Denny's took it over. They had what was called The Truckers Special for Breakfast, for only $4,99 you got an actual bone-in ham steak that was so huge it needed it's own plate and it still hung over the side of the plate. Then you got 3 pancakes or 3 french toast, 3 eggs, hash browns, 3 sausages or 3 bacon, toast and coffee/juice or soda. It was the ultimate Ham & Egg breakfast all for a few bucks. This was every weekend from Spring Break (for us was in early April) to Labor Day, from 1996 to 1999. Those were carefree days compared to now...

My family and I used to do yearly Vegas trips and this is where we'd stay. So many memories of the log ride, the arcades, and the old native paintings on the walls near the rooms. Sad to see the decline of my childhood hotel, but glad to see that it survived after being closed for nearly three years.

Bus loads of people came in on the weekend all restaurants were open monorail made it easier to get around. They need to bring back all the stores in the mall and people will come, shopping and having fun, those were good times.

First time I rode desperado was in about 1997-98. I used to go to Vegas a lot more in the 90s, every couple months. Id often drove by Buffalo Bills, never going in. Due to a sibling I used to be a roller coaster aficionado. Driving by and seeing Desperado I wrote it off as B-movie ride(no loops, from I-15 didnt seem high and tame). I finally on the spur of the moment got a friend of mine I worked with in show biz in LA to hit up Vegas one afternoon over beer. The sun had long gone down by the time we reached Buffalo Bills. My buddy had/has gambling issues i didnt know of. As soon as we crossed into Nevada he hit the tables at Buffalo Bills. Id probably would have had never stopped there in a million years. After he satisfied a quick fix at the tables he told me we were going on Desperado(he bought my ticket). It was only a couple years later I learned of its stats. I thought why not go on this rinky-dink tourist trap ride. Then the fucker rollercoaster took us outside up the long slow torturous ride to the top of the first drop. I remember looking in the distance at I-15 at night, we kept going higher, now looking WAY-DOWN on I-15. Ive ridden a lot of rollercoasters and been afraid. This was another type of afraid haha. Riding up I remember wondering how-in-the-fuck driving by this countless times I didnt think this was high. Then the first drop in the dark into a goddamn tunnel WTF. Then the G-Force speed of that rollercoaster…. It was only a couple years later I saw a documentary on roller coasters with Desperado being featured as the tallest in the world, it being next-level. And again wondered how driving by it countless times I wrote it off as not high and rinky-dink. Only once I got other (show biz and a doctor) friends to ride it in around 1999 [After that time i made a vow after walking under the tacks outside unsuccessfully looking for them to never again buy expensive sunglasses. Two friends sitting behind me saw the over-priced sunglasses rise in a flash out of my front shirt pocket and over their heads to never be seen again] Since then i have never gotten anyone else to ride with me that motherfucker.

Loved this video - you showcased this so great! We really miss the old 90's themed hotels and casinos and the buffets in Vegas. I wouldn't mind giving Buffalo Bill's a try for a couple of nights in the near future. We are getting tired of the Strip - prices in both rooms/resort fees/parking/food have skyrocketed so much and Fremont St. has gone downhill so much over the years, we have no desire to visit anymore. We are now looking at the hotels/casinos where the locals visit, just to get away from the Strip.

I used to love staying there back in the early 90s. Then again from 2008-13 after a long drive from San Fran. The staff always friendly, the patrons keep to themselves yet courteous, the food good, and the place in general was clean. Good to know they are gonna make a run at it again. I know management is different, but I hope they see the potential of what it can be, especially as a family friendly destination the likes of Wolf Lodge. Your ideas are great, but it takes money, and for that we need an investor. That's the hard part, investors won't come in, unless they sure they can make money. So far the people that came in to start this property up again, are doing a good job, but it's gonna take more investors with deep pockets to get this place really going again.

Thank you for this video. It's great to see Buffalo Bill's open again! With LV hotels all moving away from theming, it's so refreshing to see one that is fully themed and proud of it. It is so beautiful to see in person. As beautiful as your video is, it really doesn't do it justice. As a Vegas native, Buffalo Bills is by far my favorite property (and affordable, unlike It's strip/downtown counterparts). Also, the Desperado rollercoaster is a blast! So fast, with drops that will leave you breathless. I LOVE rollercoasters and have ridden all of them going back 20 years, and the Desperado is by far the best! It's also a long ride and not over in a minute or two like so many others. Well worth a try. Anyway, thank you again for sharing this with us!

Great video. It was always called "The Fun Stop" to Vegas. Their buffet was among best. Attended Star of the Desert concerts, stayed in the hotel numerous times, enjoyed visiting every time. Very popular destination with Tour Bus groups from So. Cal. either as a same day turnaround trip or hotel stay. Good to see optimism in the reopening of Buffalo Bills. There was a shuttle bus which traveled every 30 minutes to Buffalo Bills, Whiskey Pete & Primm Valley. Hopefully someday, all 3 casino/ resorts & the outlets will be functional again as it was before.

What a great place to grab a meal, shop, do a little gambling, play games and ride rides. Then we'd wait for traffic to die down, gas up the car and head home. I remember everything from the magic shop they used to have to the log ride, the massive arcade, the 3d roller coasters to the crappy buffet at whiskey Pete’s and the gorgeous mall. Wow~ love this! I've lived in Las Vegas for a long time & have always enjoyed this casino~ it's part of my bi-monthly lottery drive. I also LOVE the roller coaster, which had the largest initial drop when it opened. Subscribed & looking forward to more of your vids!

I remember stopping here so many times. My family would drive from Fresno to Vegas at least twice a year and my mom would always stop for my brother and I. We would spend half a day here before our stop in Vegas. So many unforgettable memories at this place. Thanks for bringing us back. Can’t wait to visit again soon now that it’s open.

Great video, thank you! I would drive from San Diego to Las Vegas and if I was tired, I would ride the coaster to wake me up! What a thrill when you were going up and looking down on the hotel, and then the drop that would make your heart stop! Going into the cave made you think you were going to lose your head!

As for For myself at OC coasters and theme parks this is my favorite all time rollercoaster. Also my favorite from Arrow Dynamics. The 1994 master piece of a hyper coaster the Desperado! Best hyper coaster on the west coast. Prim entertainment, Buffalo bills please reopen this masterpiece. You can advertise the best hyper coaster on the West Coast because this certainly beats out Goliath At Magic Mountain long and far and its not even close.

What a great video. So glad to see BB open again. If the pricing stays reasoable it should do okay. I hope it does. I love the old nostalgia feel too. When i lived in southern California and went to Vegas i use to stop there it sure had a lot going on in the heyday. Thanks again for sharing.

So many awesome memories of this place. This was a must-stop for my parents and I when I was a child. My dad use to call this place “The First Stop”. I remember I was always excited to ride the roller coaster and the log ride while my parents played slot machines. There weren’t too many things for kids on the Strip back in the 90s, so this was usually my highlight of the trips. My dad passed away today exactly one year ago, and I run into this video somehow. It brings back so many great memories with my dad….

I love “ Buffalo Bills ! “ it just needs a corp , not MGM Please ! , too invest a ton of money into it , rebuild it too it’s former glory and the people will come , make it like the old Vegas used to be , Give great Comps , open up a prime Rib 9.99 Buffet , and make it a Retro Casino resort and I’m sure it will be a success, BUT you have too do it all not piece meal , get the rides going , the factory outlet full and I agree it will be like the Phoenixes and reborn , Great Vlog ! Loved it 😍

Nice to see that overall tourism is improving to the point that places like Buffalo Bill’s can reopen. I only went there once way back in 1995. I didn’t visit Whiskey Pete’s in 2016 on my way through. Not sure if I’d ever stop overnight there but it was a fun way to spend a couple hours. Out of curiosity, any plans to do a similar piece about Mesquite, NV? It’s to the Nevada Arizona border, and not terribly far from Utah, what Primm is to NV/CA. It’s a good place to get a taste of what’s to come in Vegas or a nice reminder as you head back up I-15.

i used to go here all the time, with my family, in the early 2000's / late 90's. i never got to see the place entirely operational, as the train ride that used to weave through the casino was running at one point (i think on one of my very first visits it may have still been running but it shut down soon after), but besides that i got to see every other attraction open. i rode the log ride and the motion simulator a couple hundred times. Finally my buddy helped me work up enough courage to go on the Desperado, that ride was really fun, but you could tell it wasn't Six Flags level, it had this really intense vibration to it, it was rough for sure! Still rode the Desperado 20x though hahaha. This place used to be poppin man, there were TONS of people all hours of the night, tons of resteraunts, you might even go to Whiskey Pete's for a couple minutes to see Bonnie and Clyde's Car lmao xD.

Given the state's history, the old West will always be one of the most iconic themes. They do a great job with the theme. Used to stop off there on the way home in years past. Unfortunately, i think the place has a challenging road to success.

The wife and I always stopped at Primm, on the way to Las Vegas, and on the return trip home. We went on all the original rides you mentioned, that are gone or not running at this time. Were talking about the flume ride, we actually got a pistol and shot at the targets, we went on the train that went across to the hotel and Buffalo Bills, even took a ride on the drop tower that is no longer there. I even took a ride on the desperado roller coaster in 2019 just before covid. We are so happy to see this wonderful place make a comeback, you can tell we love this place.
