This video shows how to create and edit the posted G code from fusion360. Sorry if I repeat myself and if it's long winded at times. Wanted to make sure I didn't miss anything. If I did miss anything or if you have a question please comment below.

there are few videos showing mill turning, and very few showing what's behind the CNC curtain. This is the kind of thing where one person's actual experience can be useful to so many more. Thanks, mate!

Thank you for the comment. The lack of how to do the cam and Gcode is one of the reasons I made the video. There are a couple of way of doing it, this is the best way for my setup. This guy uses the G54 offsets kzfaq.info/get/bejne/oq-Fhs15l5mrmaM.html

The weird tool paths is probably the radius diameter mode in mach3. I had something like that when I started programming my lathe. The tools were drawn on the wrong side of the part. But mine actually tried machining the weird shit on the screen.

Seventy7 Industries, thanks, had other things keeping me busy. I always cut air first to make sure nothing bad happens.

22BOZIDAR . You wont have to do that once your confident your post works. Id still look at your mach settings. Any reason why you are turning in radius mode? As a machinist diameter mode is more common. I don't think Ive ever used radius mode in 20 something years.

Seventy7 Industries I'm doing this in mach3 mill. I have tried to look for the setting but can't find it. Is it only available in mach3 turn? The post processor makes the code in radius, so it works in mill mode.

22BOZIDAR . True. I forgot about that. And im pretty sure you wont be able to add it in the screen editor. You can always run the lathe profile in your mill. That way you will be able to thread.

I watched this video a hundred times and used your modified post, thanks so much. In Fusion you can simply let your post fetch your tool comments with tool.getComment () whenever a tool change occurs. Be careful to provide unique IDs to your tools though, I almost crashed our brand new Haas VM-6 because I missed this. Keep up the good work!

Thanks. Being a hobby machinist I'm happy to see it used on a pro machine.

@@22BOZIDAR actually I make it the same as your video, but not working properly on my machine. Yesterday I modified the post from my machine and works perfectly. The tools are set as G54-G59

Great video. Do you have one where you talk about making the tool holder jig?

Bill Griggs , sorry i don't. It's a modular system. the drill holder blocks can be added on or moved out to clear long drill bits. thanks for watching.

Thanks. Do you have more info on the modular system? I was hoping you had some pictures or plans for the drill holder and lathe holder block. No sense re-inventing the wheel. If not, thanks anyway. I admire your work.
