Some tests and measurements of the much-maligned San Cristobal Arsenal-produced .30 Carbine from the Dominican Republic compared to generally well-regarded Korean surplus ammo.

According to RTI website listing for the D R ammo it did have corrosive primers.

I’m wondering if that’s a CYA statement based on reputation. I still haven’t cleaned the carbine used for this video to this day, and still no rust. Or some of it was and some wasn’t. In any case, purchase at your own risk!

I've been leery of trying this ammo out in my M1s due to its bad rap...thanks for trying it out and partially dispelling some of the myths! The price is tempting, but I think I'll stick to the Korean and modern stuff.

A wise choice. Frankly if I didn’t have the option of a commercial clone carbine, I wouldn’t have risked it!

Who has this in stock and price range ? I have a few carbines and ammo for a reasonable price is hard to come by . Where are you getting the Korean surplus ?? TIA

The Korean stuff I pick up locally, there’s a shop near me that sells it. As far the Dominican stuff, RTI has it, fairly cheap but I’d hesitate to recommend it!

They’re super fun and easy to shoot; I’m glad I didn’t give mine any rust problems.

Good video, I have always been curious if this loading was as bad as the internet claims.

Korean surplus is the bulk of what I have in stock as well and it has always run like a champ. My experience with the Dominican stuff hasn’t persuaded me to switch over. Thanks for watching!
