2 months ago Question for Milwaukee specialists: I have a Milwaukee M18 FMTIW2F12 that has an interesting bug. When I press the switch, the machine rotates and the diode number 3 (third gear) lights up for a long time. Only when the diode switches off is it possible to change the direction of rotation and restart. In addition, the maximum speed (diode number 3) cannot be changed. To make it work at all and not have to wait for diode number 3 to go out, I remove the battery and reinsert it. This means that to change the wheels on a car with 5 bolts, I have to remove and reinsert the battery 10 times. Once I press the switch, I must not stop until the work is done, otherwise there will be a long pause or re-insertion and removal of the battery. How did you just find a spare part for such an expensive tool in the trash? Been searching for a replacement hall sensor for my M18 fuel onekey for months now (Middle hall sensor which you can see at 14:02 in the video)

@@nickye2864 Yesterday I repaired the same saw (M18 FSX) that I bought for $1. The machine was dead and the diode did not light up when I connected the battery. I didn't believe that the light emitting diode had anything to do with the operation of the machine? The red wire from the LED was broken, and the white one had damaged insulation. I fixed the problem and the saw works like new. Maybe someone else has similar malfunction symptoms and maybe my experience will help someone? It is not excluded that the strong magnetic rotor picked up iron dust and damaged the printed connection where the hall sensors are located? It seems that I have no other choice (because the access is difficult), but to unsolder the printed connection from the stator winding and to recheck it P.S. nickye2864, i assume that one of the hall sensors on my machine is also broken?

@@Popajaja on my machine, the snap ring on the back (under the logo, you can pry it off) got loose and the whole rotor shifted forwards. It scratched the surface of the 3 hall sensors, I tested them and one was broken. Based on what I could measure with my phone, I tried to get the trigger sensitivity right and order a replacement. I used a honeywell SS361RT in the SOT23 form factor, and the rotor spins now again, but doesn't quite get up to speed. Before, I had soldered in the SS360NT and it didn't spin, just vibrate in place. I'm gonna try and build a magnetic field measurement device to find out which sensitivity the working sensors have. I doubt that someone has the exact part number from a wiring diagram or something? Or at least knows what supplier Milwaukee uses for it's hall sensors, so I can specify my search filters more? All I o know until now is: -latching hall switch (bipolar) -SOT23 package - trigger points around ±50-100 Gauss /5-10 mT - 3.3V-3.5V supply voltage

@@gudzev78 The main switch cannot be bought separately, but the complete electronics are not worth it (too expensive). Apologies, I replaced the complete electronics from another machine that had a broken plastic case. I soaked/washed the main switch of another Milwaukee drill in benzine and the machine worked again?
