I’m a handyman/maintenance guy and I work in 5 adjoining Victorian homes and a modern low rise all on one city block. This kit was made for me! My previous socket and ratchet set was stolen from me in a break in, and my boss had a decrepit incomplete set in an old metal case with no organization. It drove me insane. This saves me time and frustration

I like how different the sockets are from others. Easy to spot and notice is missing.

Thanks for the detailed review. Especially of the trays themselves. I'm getting this for Xmas.

Do the sockets have a detent for the ratchet ball? If yes, is it only on one side or all 4? If no detent, does the socket stay securely on the ratchet or is it loose and easily falls off? Thanks
@projectpinehills4 күн бұрын
They have a dent for the ball on Al sides. Sockets stay secure. Thanks for watching!

too bad the packout system didn't have more room for optional sockets not included in the kit(i need sockets larger than 1"). i like the individual smaller kits. too bad they didnt have a packout in 1/4" size. or wrenches in packout.
@projectpinehills10 ай бұрын
Yeah I’ve had occasion where I didn’t have a larger socket in the setup that I needed and had to go to my impact set. Those are some good packout ideas 💡 you mentioned. Thanks for posting!

I love the idea how they waste so little space and is packaged that way. The problem for me is that Milwaukee sockets (as with most of their hand tools) are waaaaay overpriced, add to that the “packout” included and it’s insane how much a basic socket set costs. The form factor isn’t worth it to me for that price. My solution? The small/half size Ridgid clear top small parts organizer. $25. Dewalt 3/8” socket set with case $25, Dewalt 1/4” set with case $25, Dewalt socket adaptors with case $25. Either clip all 3 of these cases together and add a couple ratchets OR take the organizers out of the cases, cut the bottoms to 1/2 the size (lots of wasted space) so 2 of the socket inserts (3/8” and 1/4”) drop right into the small ridgid case. The small space you have left in the case, drop a couple ratchets and 1/4” nut driver, some 1/4” bits on a rail, and for around $100, you have about the same as far as tools go and the case isn’t soooo large and flat, but slightly fatter but a much smaller footprint. My added modification is to take all of the SAE out and drop (2) “short” metric sockets into each deep well slot (since I only use metric) and throw few you have left over, you put socket adaptors, extensions, etc. I guess adding the “shorts” adds A few bucks, but you are still about half the cost as this Milwaukee kit.

Thats a good way to go. I agree the price is a lot. I always buy them on sale. Just got the impact set recently for over $100 off. Thanks for the info and thanks for watching! 👍

Your comparative price point is very much overvalued. Your solution doesn't include everything this has and is more of a hassle.

@@projectpinehills my comment wasn't direxted towards you, it was to KosmicHRT saying that his solution is a better option than this set. But his solution is unnecessarily complicated and his valuations on those individual items aren't priced accordingly, nor does it include everything that this set has to offer. In reality, his solution would actually cost more than what he is saying and would be less practical.

It was Black Friday pricing that was still available after Christmas. At least $80 off.
