I I’ve at that house on the corner upstairs with my sister and I also lived down the block. I was born on 32nd St. Paul yet years after as an adult I moved there with my two children and even 37th Michigan. My family moved from 32nd and St. Paul to 27th Michigan ave. We have a large family the BLANCO FAMILY. I also had a sister and a NEICE who live across the street from the house on the corner where I lived and then my sister also lived on north 40nth street.there was only one bus that ran back in days from that little corner then to downtown. Many years of snow sledding on that hill. There was a small groceries store there to yet hours were closed by 8:00 and even 7:00 I do recall the bar on the other side. The back road from blue sound road always known as pig’s village. The little park by the highway. We all kinda knew each other and in those days crime was at it’s low. You could leave bikes out doors unlock. I always say that is my neighborhood born and raised went to Wisconsin avenue school then they tore all the house down on 27th Michigan next to the apartments and build Arthur treats Burger King and of course on 27th Wisconsin the corners two stores and the BIG BOY’S AND THE POOL HALL. I MISS THAT AREA ST. ROSE CHURCH MERRIL PARK. I REMEMBER THE STADIUM THST WAS FINALLY TORN DOWN AND MADE IN A TRACK FIELD. WOW BORN 1962 FEB I’M THE LADT CHILD OF THE BLANCO’S . MILWAUKEE WISCONSIN

You and I grew up same couple of blocks 3420 Michigan house sold to Humphrey Chevrolet moved just down the alley to 3518 west Clybourne house sold to Marquette high school now the parking lot. And I remember the little grocery store on 35th Clybourne run by Sal Gallones and his wife. I delivered the milwaukee journal all over pig's vil and saint Paul 35th to 27th then Clybourne including side streets do you remember Butch Cassidy's hole in the wall bar or the Stadium Bar my school mates dad wss the owner. Boy the 70s were a good time to live in the merril park neighborhood good memories. Left for school in Indiana and Army in 1976.

I used to ride my motorcycle down to Piggsville and park it under the Wisconsin Avenue viaduct right where the Milwaukee Road train tracks went under. There I would wait for a westbound freight to ride. Great hidden spot covered out of the weather motorcycle parking spot for freight hopping trips.

Marquette High School used, or rented a football practice field where Quad park located near 39 and St. Paul. Not sure if that is used by the school anymore. The Merrill Park field or grounds off of 35th street is where we used to have our gym class.

Socialism really hindered the progress of this great City. How sad

It was a shame those socialists build a Zoo, County Stadium, park system and museum, street cars, and began a city wide trash collection service. Who needs those things.
