Check the alternator belt to make sure it’s not loose or snapped first. Hope you get it fixed soon.

Just a question, 3 of these symbols come on when I turn the key once and it lights up the dashboard, just before starting the car.... but disappear once the engine has started. Should I still take notice of them ? Oil, EML and battery . I had an issue with my engine turning itself off yesterday whilst driving and I’m trying to work out what the problem could be....

Very helpful! A quick question though, although I have the light and what I believe is the button for cruise control I cant seem to work it. Does it actually have cruise control or am I missing something? Thank you.

Kayleigh Ryan Usually if it has the stalk with cruise control then it should have it. Maybe it’s broken or you are not pressing it correctly

Sometimes my asc light is attive but asc stil working. Sometimes it disappear, i friend to switch the butano on/off but Nothing happen. Can be the cold winter temperature or humidity that produce some contacts issues?

When you press the button the ASC light should remain ON warning you the anti skid device is disabled. You are correct in that dirt and corrosion can cause issues. Make sure your tyres are all inflated correctly (this can set the light off sometimes). There is a link here on how to replace the Wheel speed sensor, fairly easy job but getting the old one out can be tricky if it's never been replaced before. > kzfaq.info/get/bejne/fppnqLWJrZ_SdX0.html&

@@LurgsHowToGuides when i press button for the asc nothing happen apparently, the asc led is light on with or without using the button! but when i press strong on accelerator, the asc system flashes and seems asc system still working and i think it is not deactivated. Dunno what to think but this problem is present after snows... the yellow light of the button for activate/ddeactivate asc do not working only when i have this problem... when i don't have this problem the button seems work properly and i can activate and deactivate asc. Sometimes when there is the problem also other functions do not works... for example fog lights seems do not working ( sometimes ). I thought there is a problem of contact/humidity... cold temperature. After some day the problem vanish by himself. A mistery =(

@@Cyprin86 Fog light issue is a separate thing. Probably worth checking all your fuses (internal and engine bay) (I've got videos in my Mini Playlist). If they all check out ok then you may have a problem with a wheel speed sensor. You could try an OBD2 reader to see what error it shows (when the light is on). It's a pain when cars get old and they have all this technology as it all starts to go wrong!

I'm about to buy a 2006 Mini one D, and I asked the seller if you could display digital speed on the dashboard, he said no. But from what I've been searching every Mini has it. Does he have no idea he can display the speed, or can it not really display the speed?

It's not available on this model on my channel but I believe it is available on some later models. Try pushing the end of the turn indicator stalk in. This cycles through the different screens in the display. When you get to the one that has instantaneous speed, leave it and after a few seconds it will transfer that to the digital readout under the Rev Counter. But I think it may be an 'option pack' so may not work on all Mini's.

That amber triangle with circle arrow also could mean there is a issue with fuel pump. My goes on today and exhaust was so noisy . Then after hours warning ⚠️ gone and who knows what exactly its mean

The engine oil pressure in my mini r50 comes on and the seller told me that the sensor is unserviceable is it a common a problem and if the sensor is faulty does it comes on red !!

I'd be very worried about that because engine oil pressure is crucial. You shouldn't even drive a car if the engine oil pressure light is on (until you know what the fault is). I'd get that seen to asap.

That sounds like a very big job, I wouldn’t even try, it won’t be as simple as changing the steering wheel, you may need a computer update and different wheel sensors. Be easier to buy a car with Cruise Control I think!

Vonet Vonet If it's at 1m24 that is the exhaust system. Possibly it's got a hole in it or maybe an issue with the catalytic converter (if it has one). Have a look underneath when you rev it and see if you can hear it blowing

Obviously a fault. They need to be checked because in theory they could just deploy whilst you are driving ! Get an obd2 computer on it and it should tell you the fault. Good luck

Hi, recently my car failed mot for faultyc asc or dsc switch and warning light, i removed and checked switch was from different car as year dosent match, is there a chance my mini dosent have asc or dsc ?

Alex Juskowiak I expect you do have it on your Mini, when you turn on the ignition see if that light comes on. It’s ridiculous they fail for things like that, it’s not the end of the world as old cars don’t even have it.

Alex Juskowiak it’s very unlikely. Get an OBD2 reader and read the fault codes. Could be a faulty ABS wheel speed sensor. I’ve got a video how to replace one.

@@LurgsHowToGuides just replaced my abs sensor as abs was also on and there is still no asc/asc light at all, checked with inpa and front left sensor was at fault.

Hello mate. Can u retrofit cruise control? Also u could have mentioned to fuel warning light, the "0" line on the fuel gauge turns to red when u get below an 1/8th of a tank. No biggy :) . Love the cars though, so brilliantly simple dashboards. The Mrs car is more modern and has too much clutter on the dash in my opinion.

Cooper 2004 O yeh I forgot the fuel warning light. I doubt if you can retrofit cruise control, so much traffic in U.K. you'd never need it, it's all stop start!

Cooper 2004 You can get cruise control put on. I Have just had this added onto my car with a my kit functional steering wheel. You might need to purchase some additional wires but easily done.

If you mean the one at the end of the temp dial that’s just a red warning light, if temperature gets anywhere near that pull over and switch off the engine.

R50 and R53 are very similar and all my videos should cover both models. After that they changed shape a bit and that was a newer version. Personally I love the R50 R53, a classic shape. The modern ones they've got rid of the nice large central Speedometer, booo.

It should always be active but the light should only flash on when it has kicked in. If the light is permanently lit then there is an error somewhere.

If you’ve pumped up all tyres it sounds like a faulty ABS wheel sensor. I do actually have a video on how to replace that but it’s a fairly involved job. Or if you’ve changed wheels or have different tyre sizes on each wheel it can send the sensors crazy
