I think Death of a Fool sounds really great, I have never read her before though, lol, so I guess I will be adding that other one to my list. The other two books you talked about sound great too. Thanks for adding more to my list, hahaha. Booktube is super freaggin dangerous.

I agree with you about the depth, although I really enjoyed it. I think I gave it 4 stars so a lot like you. Apparently he's working on part 2 of Forty Acres and I think and hope he'll go deeper there. Is the author of Into the Go-Slow from Chicago? Into the Go-Slow is on my TBR for this year. I wanted to read it at the end of last year but December was hectic.

+Brown Girl Reading she's from Detroit and what I love about her is that she still lives in the city. She has one other novel that I'm currently on the hunt for and I can't wait to see what she writes next. Is it an author's fault if they fail to meet your expectations? I feel like Smith didn't promise me an in-depth analysis on race. He promised me a thriller and he delivered. But still.... I don't know. It was definitely a fun read though. I'm happy you put it on my radar.

I agree about Forty Acres. It was a bit of tease on the race discussion. Technically he starts the discussion well in the book but I4m hoping for more in depth in his second book. So we agree. :)
