A very nice group of armies with a general high level of painting. And you choose very cleverly the miniatures you use to compose your armies (lots of different and interesting poses), great job.

Another vote for seeing the Japanese village/Ronin board for the game that WSS developed - would love to see that. Great video - always wondered about your gaming tastes.

i like all the armies you've done. i really like the hessians, and the samurai are superb. id love to see how you did the patterned clothing which you dont often see other painters attempt in this scale. excellent work ma'am!

Thanks for the nice words. I've definitely done tutorials on patterned clothing over the years. My first one was on an unarmored samurai as a matter of fact. There are many others though, like Queen Matilda, an Arabic warrior from the middle ages, etc.

talking about quality of painting one gentleman I wargamed with used to spend a little bit of time on the front ranks but then be very basic on those behind same amount of time on average but do it where it will be seen and appriciated once again just love your work

After painting for over 30 years, I lean towards synthetic white sable brushes and Robert Simmons is my favorite brand.

Really like the AWI Hessian army, even if it was a pain for you to paint! I have enjoyed your painting of other AWI and French and Indian War figures. Keep it up! I have been looking for your videos on painting horses, do you have any tutorials on painting them?

I have quite a few. Most aren't specifically on horses though. Just look for any on mounted units. I break most of those into two parts and tend to always spend the first video only painting the horse. I also have a tutorial specifically on painting a donkey/mule, since that's a bit different.

"Hessian!" My South Carolinian mother-in-law and her generation still used that as a term of rather pointed derision; it was as close to swearing as she was accustomed to. Cultural memories have long lives, it seems. =^[.]^=

Well, I've painted an Ashigaru and a Samurai without armour (my first video EVER), but I might do an amroured one someday. :-)

very good. 28mm is a great scale. just big enough to appreciate and enjoy the detail. im stuck with 25mm, its always a struggle the older one gets! cet la vie!

I can't really point to one I guess - just tried to look at lots of Japanese woodblock prints while working on the project.

Thank you for your prompt response and many thanks for your videos. I thought I was the only one who considered painting eyes rather silly, given the scale and 'doll-like' look of 99% of the end results (that and I must admit I am rather poor at doing so ;) ).

Can we get some videos for the samurai and ashigaru? I'm considering getting some and painting them up for a friend of mine, but when I was trying to research what colors to use, they seem so highly individualized that it feels like a very daunting task.

hi I'm about to start my first painting channel for the likes of wh40k,ive been painting on and off for 20 years would you have any advicefor a beginner you tuber please

Hi there! Glad to hear you are thinking about a painting channel - more are always better. Make sure you have a good camera that films well in low light. Make sure your videos are uploaded in HD - everyone wants that quality to be able to really see what you are doing. Other than that, if you want to grow your channel and get more viewers, try to get a regular filming schedule and stick to it like clockwork. It can be discouraging in the beginning, but that's how you'll make sure it grows eventually.

Of you have read such authors as John Keegan or Anthony Beevor or S L W Marshall then you will never do. wargaming sgain. It is too gruesome. Combat veterans for the most part won't talk about their experiences, the friends theyve lodt,the things they had to do or the real face of war.
