In Minimax 1100r Airplane Out for a Test Drive I take it out for a taxi around the parking area. Tracking was great with slight adjustment needed in the tailwheel

Omg! Nice! I'm reflecting on the idea that I've watched you build it this from the very beginning from you cutting out the wood pieces to this moment doing initial testing! So happy and proud of your progress, Dennis. So many people cheering for you!

That’s amazing that you’ve seen all of this develop from the beginning, first in the factory, then the Compton hangar, my garage, and now taxing around the airport…it’s difficult to describe the emotional side of this but it’s certainly real!

Looks like you're about ready to load ammo and go after the Red Baron. Don't forget the leather skull cap, goggles and long white streaming neckerchief. Just out for a little taxi looks like fun.

It handles awesome on the ground and it was a lot of fun. A guy just parked his Extra after doing some aerobatics and had a good long stare as I went by. One of the cool things about my airport is there’s a guy flying a Volksplane and he used to be an F35 test pilot…that’s just awesome! There’s another guy with a Pietenpol that he built with his dad in 1979.

Have no worries.. It is a finely crafted minimax and will fly amazingly well. I’ve seen poor craftsmanship team planes fly great. Just land power on for the first few. It’s like hitting the brakes when you pull the power to idle trying to land. It’s just fine if you set up for a power off landing. It’s pretty steep but when you flare it’s done flying

It was all of those things! A slight adjustment is required in the tailwheel. It was nice to start it from behind, climb in the cockpit, talk to ground and get confirmation that my radio is loud and clear, then get lots of stares from those who have seen it for the first time…lots of fun

Hi Dennis, I've been watching from the beginning. As an RC aircraft builder and flyer for more than 30 years and now a private pilot I've enjoyed the construction process. In fact I like the idea of building a Mini Max myself, maybe the Epic Sport. But I can't make contact with Team Mini-Max. What's happened to them? Thanks, from New Zealand

They are definitely still operating. David has had a lot of challenges but he’s trying to hang in there. The best time to reach him is around 5:30pm eastern time here in the US. Also weekends, he’s working a full time job during the day. Thanks so much for following the channel! It’s been a lot of fun to bring everyone along on the Journey.

Dennis, any new "News" to report to your throng of followers? We realize it can't fly until the AW inspection has been completed, however, we all are interested in what you are doing to "more familiarize" yourself with your airplane. Thanks.

I’ll do a video real soon of what I’ve been up to. I moved the engine forward 3.5” This put me right in the sweet spot of 29% chord with 5 gallons of fuel on board. Looks like I will be able to carry 6 gallons which gets me around 2 hours with some reserve. I go next Saturday to get a couple Citabria flights in and get my TW endorsement completed. After that, I’ll have the DAR out to inspect.

Getting really close. I still can’t get the tach stabilized so I’m gonna get the hall sensor that goes in vent port of the mag. The local avionics guy tells me that this is the solution I’m looking for
