Next when shooting at night, why not try out a low-contrast filter or a diffusion filter? The grainydays channel recently did a video using film cameras and a diffusion filter (Tiffen Black Pro Mist 1/4). It would go well with the multi-colored street lights on the subject. The low-contrast filter might help with backlit subjects.

i heard a lot of good things about the sigma. but the biggest deal breaker for me is the motor noise and the size. However, 1.8 is something to think about.

Honestly it’s not that bad as people complain about. I would say that the Fuji 16mm 1.4 is way “worse” if it was something to compare it too 🤷🏻‍♂️

@@HVRIS I agree. The 1.4 motors are significantly louder. I had a bad experience with non native mount in the past, and got traumatized badly. I decided to go for 16-55 2.8 and I've been very happy with it. anyway, did you get to check out the new firmware update yet?

Oooo tough one! Obviously... I am biased but if you did lots of corporate interviews that required no record limit, maybe go with the Sony? Otherwise I find that the Fuji is way more “creative” 💁🏻‍♂️

Having tried both, I much prefer the Fuji. The film stock and user experience of it is just so much more enabling. Using the Sony gets the job done but lacks that extra “soul” in the final photos and the shooting experience that Fuji has

Depends on your style of shooting. I need lenses that perform super good in low light so the sigma helps a lot

hey man, how's going? This is Isaac from HK again. Any advice for shooting manual focus video with the 0.95? When the DOF is so shallow, guess it's not easy to nail focus if the subject is moving? any tips? I just ordered the 7artisans 35mm f0.95 fuji www.7artisans.com/en/h-pd-51.html as it's almost half the price of the Mitakon.

Hey man! I’ve read some blogs about it, the results seem to be the same between both lenses tbh. Just that the Mitakon has a better build quality? So I think for the price you are getting a decent deal. In terms of focusing, use peaking with your manual focus. Practice a lot! If you try to shoot moving subjects at 0.95 right away you will be frustrated and disappointed. So try still subjects first and slowly work your way to moving subjects. Also, I would only recommend it for special shots.
