MK4 Eurojet FMIC Install

a basic overview on how to install the "street line" Eurojet FMIC.
If you're like me then you have looked everywhere to find a video to help you install this kit. well here it is, there was only one other video that helped me but it was just a picture slide show, no explanation or walk-through. i hope this helps you guys and gives you a little confidence to get the job done with no problems.
this was installed on a 2003 20th anniversary GTI
engine code AWP

i ordered mine off of ecstuning shipped fast. and in one piece, no damage! highly recommend this kit. after the install was all said and done it felt like a totally different car. pulls stronger, noticeable power gains!

PM was sent glad you found it useful, this is for everyone else interested. I'm using the stock turbo and software. I felt a strong pull difference and more low end torque. I would recommend replacing the fuel pressure regulator with an upgraded 4 bar one. I got mine off of Ecs tuning. Along with the intercooler kit. Also I'm planning on doing an reflash of my ecu through Gonzo tuning. I would check them out they have some cool aggressive tuning programs for stock internals.

doing my front mount tomorrow, i must have read my Haynes Manual, and watched this video like 20 times.. thanx a million. hopefully it all turns out. I got my piping seperate from the intercooler core, and their isnt a MAP sensor port on it, so imma have to A-Team/McGyver that shit! but its all good... Thanks again!

Don't have a fmic yet. . But rhe knowledge of how to install it is pretty handy when needed. I also have the horizantal ebay grill lol. Great vid and also great pass. Sounds awesome!

nice video man, this helps me feel a lot more confident although it is pretty easy to install (mine is going on a 04 Jetta), are you running the stock turbo w/ chipped software?and if so did you feel a difference?

Looks like a straight forward install, well done. I just think the extensive length of extra piping supersedes the need for a larger front mount. Don't you think?

Hey! what did you do about the map sensor? did you make a gasket or something? our AWP cars have the sensor with the smaller diameter. The pipe in the eurojet kit is made for the bigger (older model) sensor. Thanks! Btw I have the same kit just black piping

i just picked up a 337 3 days ago i was thinking on purchasing this. is there a way that i can still have my cold air intake in the engine bay or does it have to go down where u had it? good video too very explanatory

+Mark Johns Honestly man you can put your intake where ever you want. The gains from a CAI are insanely minimal it doesnt make much of a difference where its located, they just sound nice is all. I myself am going with a mafless big turbo set up on my 1.8t. So my filter is just gonna stick right off the turbo itself no other pipes or nothing.

Hey man. Were you able to use the bottom mounting bolts? I'm installing a Eurojet fmic on my Jetta and I cannot get he bumper to fit correctly because the Eurojet crash bar covers the holes. How did you get your bumper to fit so well?

Nope I don't believe you can use the bottom bolts. You're also probably going to have to cut the bumper up to fit properly. The sides of the lower air vents

well in NY its not really that strict. if your check engine light is off, you're golden. if you have any concerns, i would contact Euro Jet about it. but you should be fine.

does your boost gauge light up? i have the same one but it was installed by the previous owner. mine doesn't light up and i was just wondering if it was supposed to

do you happen to have a video on how to install that gauge pod on the a-pillar? I recently bought one like the one you have and I'm trying to figure out how to properly install it.

I don't :/ the car is totaled and I don't fully remember. My gauge was wrapped in fabric that matched the interior color and had wings coming off of the sides. I wrapped those around the back of the pillar tightly and used contact cement to hold them in place. I would recommend running the wires and boost line first before trying to put everything back in. Run them from the corner of the windshield so the pillar will over most of it.

+GnsisOfaNemesis no problem, always enjoy helping out. Yeah it's gotta come out. Don't quote me on this but I'm pretty sure (70%) it's just held in by those annoying metal clips that slide into the back of the pillar. Similar to the clips along the trim on the floor by the doors and such.

it did't really seem to change to be honest. while the line is longer now, the air had to pass through the "pancake" pipe to get to the old intercooler. so in theory the restriction vs's length equals out in the end

do you need to do a tune when you install a FMIC?

No, no tune is required. You're going from a side mounted intercooler to a front mounted intercooler. So nothing's really changing except for the location and efficiency of cooling intake temperatures. If that makes sense

Bought the car like that, The bumper clips were broken. Fixed them and got everything to line up perfectly and literally the next morning the car was totaled

Unfortunately I was in a bad accident with the car and no longer have it. So I can't answer with certainty, but I wouldn't be surprised to see at the very least, some trace amounts of oil residue. I would think if it's dripping with oil, that you probably have an issue with the PCV system.

I mean, I have a decent income. But you get what you pay for, and a quality setup isn't cheap. Take a look at the prices for the APR fmic or the forge fmic they're all up there price wise. If you can afford it, why not buy a quality product?
