contact sports have evolved a lot, since athletes who stood out for presenting something new, or some way of fighting, bring with them new methods of combat, and that's a good thing. but there are certain individuals who, because they do not fight but observe creating, mechanisms and techniques, from trials, successes and mistakes, we see how each one contributes to the combat, this video of yours shows this, how a striker can neutralize q fight standing for a fight grappling struggle. I'm Brazilian and I realize that in your videos you can explain how to take down, your opponent would not expect a movement like this, thanks for your teachings.

Great video I was waiting for such a topic. Especially the first technique ....fake , then overhand and then take down....question- when the opponent kicks, grab the kick, do you ever simply step back pullling the leg and causing a take down instead of the sweep?

It’s difficult to do that as your momentum is already going forward and pulling straight back and straight forward is easier to defend against, best bet is to follow the momentum then lean either right or left depending on the situation, in wrestling it’s called cutting the corner.

@Summer_Tea
@Summer_Tea 3 жыл бұрын
I realize that so much of what you do flows really naturally when strung together. That inside leg kick from #7 flies back into southpaw because it's more natural to push off their leg than to intentionally place it back in front of you. You've also covered that it's much more comfortable and natural to sway to the open side of your stance than to sway towards your lead leg, so you've got the back-left sway to dodge the counter-attack as you land in southpaw. And finally, you've mentioned before that as a right-handed fighter you prefer shooting takedowns from southpaw, so you're already loaded up after all of this to shoot in.

Hey bro, if you are thinking too much or in other words freezing, you just need to spend more time drilling. Drill so much that you instinctually react!

Jeff Chan MMAShredded sounds like I should invest in more one on one lessons and strictly drill. Thanks for the tip. I’ll try to implement it into my training.

Why do you horse kick your leg sometimes doing a double leg? Are you adjusting your hips ? Or is this a way to put more momentum?

May I ask tho, why are you lifting your feet mid while taking down your opponent? Was it to put the weigh down to the upper body so you become much heavier which would make you easily take your opponent down? Or is it because youre already driving your momentum and weigh on that direction so you need a few more inches (which is very unlikely cause you can alternate your steps while driving them)/

I see you switch to southpaw as soon as u change level before you shoot...whats the rationale...do u feel u get more drive/ momentum to shoot on the switch stance?

I’ve had better look throwing punches in combination to get in than do the takedown. It’s happened to me a lot though that both me and my opponent shoot at the same time
