As always thanks for watching much appreciated!
Hard doing for easy viewing :)
If you are a blaster and require help please drop me a message on here. PLEASE don't email or call asking advice on how to setup or operate your Rig. I need to prioritise my free time doing work calls, emails and quote enquiries. I will always try to respond to comments on my videos :)

Top job Mick, Blasting away the paint & crud on that trailer sure shows up any rust & rot eh!, Do you ever get any hassle over the amount of blasting medium getting everywhere or do they know the score of what sand blasting entails? Thanks for the video.

Yeah its possibly the fastest way to clean old steels up to a reusable state. I try to explain to my customers how bad its going to be with the dust etc its only a small price to pay for something like this so it can serve another good span than the costs involved with replacing it with new.

I love your videos man! You inspired me to do a project myself. Rented a pot, tow behind compressor, and got all the gear for tomorrow to do our dump truck bed! I have a quick question about dust… How concerned should I be about the neighbors? I’ll be in a good size lot, don’t have access to water but thought about maybe stringing up some tarps to shield it for them?

Very concerned its a huge problem you need to know your media isn't toxic and you also need to know what your taking off ie not sure of your location but US still use lead based paints alot UK have alot of laws that's one of the reasons I say these videos arnt a how too please be very careful and take care alot can go wrong very fast. Only advise I could say is start on something a little easier its not as easy as it looks. Please don't let this put you off but you need to be aware its not just very dangerous to you it could affect anything or anyone that breaths air around you I was told on a course I did duno how much bolx the instructor was talking but a 7 mile radius can be affect with sillic dust or lead poisoning. Ideally you should do some sort of training beforehand 😬 too late for that I wish you luck and please report back I would love to know how you get on 💪👌👍

If mechanic worked on a tip truck / lorry his employer would require him to put a safety pole under the deck for occupational health reasons, yet time after time I see you flaunting these regs, have you ever watched KZfaq videos on blown hydraulic units on trucks, you would never see the deck coming ... It happened to a school mates dad he was an roadside assist mechanic, this happened in 1965 and 8 of his fingers ever grew back

@@Mobileblaster it’s always good to keep an eye out for these things however, I’m sure when you risk assessed this job then the responsibility to make the vehicle safe would have been down the the trained and competent operative who parked and lifted the bed for you. It’s all too easy for people to point these things out but ultimately you should just have to check that these isolation procedures have been carried out 👍
@Mobileblaster
@Mobileblaster Жыл бұрын
@@Invinciblemoam yeah I should have waited for the stay bar but I got sucked into the job and believed I would be fine on the outer side if it did go I wouldn't get trapped between the body and chassis after the fitter came he sorted this along with the removal of the mot plate chassis plates etc

Yeah I would say do it if you have the time video making sucks alot of time up but if you enjoy the process this wouldn't matter 👌 don't do it for financial purposes as I can safely say this niche isn't in the top earning video niches less than 80p per 1000 views and this drops as low as 12p per 1000 don't forget you only get 60% of this too as KZfaq want there cut then you get 20% tax on the remainder so yeah its not worth it for financial gain reasons I actually enjoy makeing videos and interacting with the community 👌 I try to respond to everyone I know this will get to a point I will have to slow down as some days it does take alot of time. I wish you luck if you take the venture and it is enjoyable 👌

I could but this wouldn't help any new guys out as they will get disappointed they cannot match hour for hour takes years to learn how to get speed up and costs down my 1st ever trailer like this tuck 7 days and it wasn't near the quality of this job. What tuck 7 days back then I could do in 2 or 3 hours now 👍 that's the sort of disappointment other guys may feel or I will end up with people saying it's impossible to do said job in said time it's easier to keep it as it is. Thanks for the feedback I appreciate any input like this 👍

I did a stone clean some videos back and said it tuck a day then another company phoned me up saying I'm giving false advice that job couldn't be done in 1 day so when they was quoting 2 or 3 days with 2 guys couldn't justify their costs I'm not about that life I have no reason to lie or try and impress anyone that doesn't help anything so since then I try to actively keep time scales out

@@jdaspects just waiting on a sponsor to get their bit together I've done a video that's sat waiting as I talk about the suit 👌 and hopefully my viewers will be able to get a discount on everything this company sells hopefully its a win win but 1 thing is for sure I'm not a advert and I won't sell out for my own monetised gains the way this deal works I show some stuff and show we're it can be got with a discount then it's totally down to the viewer what they do with the information so I'm happy with that 👌

Very poor technique, tbh, mate. You’re supposed to hold the nozzle at a 20 degree angle and not point the nozzle directly at the substrate. Also, your air to media ratio is wrong. It’s why you’re taking so long to do a relatively small job

@@Mobileblaster f*ck that, I’m retired. It was only constructive criticism anyway. Your technique is all wrong. By aiming the nozzle directly at the substrate, you’re causing a rippling effect, which in turn, will weaken the metal and cause stress fractures. I used to set these machines up and train people how to use DMS machines.
@Mobileblaster
@Mobileblaster 10 күн бұрын
@CymruCelt01 I will take on board any constructive criticism if it's just that. But what you are saying makes no sense. It's impossible to cause the steel any harm the only factor you're talking about won't make any difference to the steel at all. In your 1st comment you say it's taken way too long how long did it take me and did I make a profit? Is my business still in operation after many years? I must be doing something right BUT I do say these videos arnt a how too as people find ways that work for them the way I do things works for me not saying it's the right way but I'm plenty happy enough with how things are going 👍 I would love some professional constructive criticism not from armchair expert that makes no sense in what they type 👍
@CymruCelt01

@@Mobileblaster I’m not some armchair expert! I was a professional, shot blaster! I used to work in the shot blasting industry for many years and conduct courses to those that needed shot blasting qualifications! And you will damage the steel What I said makes perfect sense, and you should use the nozzle at a 20 degree angle, otherwise it will cause a rippling effect to the substrate, which in turn can cause hairline cracks. I actually know what I’m talking about
