Welcome to my “Modern Life for the 70's Mind” KZfaq Channel. On this channel, I not only take a look at the songs and history that made us who we are today, but also introduce you to today's modern music as well. Any songs that combine the two are always a winner. I've always loved music and have always tried to keep a balance between the classic music I fell in love with and today's MUCH DIFFERENT sounds. Here's we'll analyze both. We’ll even take some time and revisit some of the old parts of our past that have disappeared from today’s shelves and most people’s memories. Let’s relive those moments together! Thank you from the bottom of my heart for taking time out of your day to check in. I appreciate it more than I can say here.

Loved the reaction, lol. All a capella, each takes the lead depending on the song. You can't pick a bad HF song. They're country, but sing all genres. Jaw harp is Adam Chance (goes by Chance), also the baritone who covers bass when Tim is singing in a higher range. Bass is Tim Foust, who commands five+ octaves. He hits the lowest notes you'll ever hear. First to sing, tenor Austin Brown. Second is Rob Lundquist. And of course, beatboxer, vocal percussionist Adam Rupp with the beat and the "no-monica," who can make just about any instrument or noise you can name. Since you seem to be from my generation, you might want to hear American Pie (ft. Don McLean). I would suggest Dive Bar Saints or Love Me Like That or Dreamer (originals). Or covers: How Great Thou Art, My Church, One Man Band, Ring of Fire, When a Man Loves a Woman, Woman Amen/Female, to name a very few of their offerings.

Tim Foust, the bass, has been known while ordering food in a restaurant, to make ladies stop eating and look for his voice. Women really can't ignore that bass. That wad Rob on the hip-hop at the end. Home Free lean country but not hard country. You need to hear then do the collab about a year ago of American Pie, with the writer & original singer Don McLean...it's very special.

Not true about women. Some of us just don't care for deep voices, finding them heavy and threatening. I wish men wouldn't try to tell all women what they find attractive - you can't know how all of us feel about anything. If I heard a bass voice while I'm eating, I'd just wonder who the pompous loudmouth was and make a mental note not to visit again. I also get annoyed by the mindset that tries to treat singing like football, a matter of stats, not art. if one more idiot tells me that Tim has 5 octaves, I swear I'll give up music for good.

Home Free is just exceptional. They are so individually talented but together they are pure magic. Their live show is just as good as their studio recordings and one of the best concerts you will ever go to. They are so fun and entertaining but can also be serious when the song calls for it. Please use the term jaw harp or one of the other variations. If you look up the etymology of the term, English is the only language that includes such a reference. As a Jew, I find it offensive.

Home Free is an exceptionally talented band. Everything they have done is awesome. Please check out more HF and be blown away. Adam Rupp is our beatboxer and harmonica man, his percussion 🥁 is awesome too. Our bass man is Tim Faust which has a 5 octave range he’s from S. E Texas, now living in Nashville TN. He has blown out speakers . Our other fella is Chance , bass and baritone whom was doing the juice harp, he was raised in Alabama now living in LA, California. Our smooth tenor in overalls with beard and glasses is smooth as silk, Rob Lindquist. Our high tenor is Austin Brown from Tifton, GA, Rob and Adam are from Minneapolis MN. Where they still live with their families. Bless you…🎼🎶🦋🎵

Great reaction! The jaw harp sound was from Chance (Adam Chance) in the dark vest on the back left. You can see him singing it near the end in a solo shot. He is using harmonic overtone singing (aka tibetan throat singing). The beatboxing was otherwise done by Adam Rupp, who also did the harmonica. Since he is doing both at the same time, he layered the 2 parts in studio. On tour, they use a looper to be in 2 places at once. They also do "harmonica" duets by adding the main lead on this song, Austin Brown. Gotta be a pretty high tenor to pull off harmonica. They have a ton of great songs, but there is one that might really hit you in the right spot. They did the 50 year remake of American Pie with Don Mclean - at his request.

These guys are all so talented. They lean towards country but they can do any genre. They all can take the lead depending on whos voice is best for the song. They are known for their tight harmonies. Please keep doing more Home Free. It's a rabbit whole to go down that you won't regret. You will find a lot of Home Fries, what fans of the group call themselves, subscribing to your channel. I can't even recommend a song because they are all great. Find a song that interests you and react to it. Thank you! Tim's bass solo here generally drops jaws, but most people get so wrapped up they miss the fact that when the group comes back in he drops down another octave or twelve on the final line. Nice to hear someone pick up and comment on how low he gets! As one Home Fry to another potential Home Fry in the making, welcome to the rabbit hole that is Home Free. Their catalog is deep and wide, and they can shred in any genre, not just country. "American Pie" with Don McLean, "When a Man Loves a Woman", "End of the Road" are all great. Home Free is the best--period. They are completely acapella and make all "instrumental" sounds themselves. Chance doing the jaw harp sound really sets the stage for this song's story. Tim's bass line completely grounds the harmonies and Adam's voice percussion simply cannot be beat. This performance highlights a lot of Home Free's strengths although they also handle just about any other genre amazingly!! (The more Home Free songs you react to the more subscribers you'll gain. "Home Fries" (HF fans) are incredibly loyal and will flock to wherever the guys' music shows up 🥰)

Tim Foust, the bass is a basso profundo (lowest of basses) - and you haven't heard anything yet - he is shaking the ground during concerts, making plaster falling from the ceiling and sometimes taking out sound-systems when he really goes down but his range goes up to a tenor with ease. Adam Rupp, the beatboxer or "freak of nature" or "living drumkit" is unbelievable. Adam Chance their baritone (left side back) covers bass when Tim takes lead and the jews harp you hear is him. Austin Brown is the high tenor of the group and Rob Lundquist is the lead tenor. There are two great songwriters in the group and they have a great sense of humor. No matter if sad of funny they never disappoint.

Adam Chance (called "Chance" - left rear then leaning against the porch post at the end) is doing the sound of the jaw harp & covers baritone, some bass & some tenor. The one doing the harmonica, Adam Rupp, is the Championship beat boxer/percussionist. First one who sings is Austin Brown, high tenor. Second one is Rob Lundquist, tenor. One of the lowest bass singers in the world is Tim Foust but he also has a 5+ octave range & can sing from subwoofer destroyer to high tenor. Home Free is the real deal. They won the NBC show the Sing Off in 2013. The beatboxer, Adam, is insanely talented. He can do drums, harmonica, castanets, bugs, all manner of sounds. You’re right Chance (the other guy in the back with Adam) is doing the mouth harp, jaw harp, whatever you want to call it. Tim, the bass, has a 5 octave range so he can go lower than this song and sing up in the tenor range. They are all extremely talented. They are country but sing all genres. Adam Rupp is the beatboxer and invisible harmonica player. However, the newest member of the group is Adam Chance. Adam Chance is the invisible Mouth Harp/Jaw Harp/Jew's Harp (depending on what you've been taught to call it ;-P) player. Some other "Reactors" have thought Adam C. was emulating a Didgeridoo. Not so. Both a Mouth Harp and a Didgeridoo make a single musical note that doesn't change, while the player can change the timbre and resonance by manipulating their mouth, throat, and breathing. There are some that have said that Adam C. makes that sound by a vocal style known as Mongolian Throat Singing. The dead giveaway that the sound is NOT made with a Mouth Harp is the LAST and final note of the song. You see, Adam C. changes that final note by lowering or swinging it down in tone. That is impossible to do with an actual Mouth Harp. If you think Tim Foust, the Base Man, is hitting some low notes in this one, try out Home Free's covers of "Ring Of Fire" and "Folsom Prison Blues." Tim has a 5-octave vocal range.

I remember in the mid - 60s collecting those inserts in the RC cola bottle caps. You would get cards from the stores to put them on and when you filled the card you redeemed it for a six-pack of RC cola. I used to fish those caps from the vending machines and got a lot of free RC cola six-packs that way. Good times!

That's Tim Foust, bass , known to blow speakers, vibrate cameras, all guys can sing tenor, 2 basses, 2 baritone, Adam Rupp 2x world champion beat boxer, that would be Adam Chance, aka Chance doing the haw harp, they can beat box. They won the singoff in 2013.

Misty Mountain with Peter Hollens shows some really deep "Tim Foust" notes. Or @ for a "drum solo" (with looper).
@jackmandu
@jackmandu 2 жыл бұрын
You were correct with the juice harp sound, it just wasn’t the actual instrument. They do use a looper for that sound as it’s hard on Chance’s voice to do that sound too long. They record 5-10 seconds live in concert and then replay it throughout the song.

I just finished my vintage game pieces frame (where I took many vintage game pieces and glued them into a shadow box), and now I'm working on vintage gum wrappers. Chance, the guy in the black vest, is doing the jews harp sounds. (And thank the goddess for not calling it a didgeridoo!!) This video was my introduction to the group and I was instantly in love. They have so many great videos out and from what I gathered the quarantine caused a major step up on their video production; filming in and around their separate homes and their producer meshing them together wonderfully. If they sound southern that may be because 3 of the five are from the south; Georgia (lead singer here), Texas (bass), and Alabama (black vest), with the other two from Minnesota. And don't let this video fool you, these boys can be incredibly silly. They've come up with some videos that will have you falling out of your chair with laughter. They've done a video for the O'Jay's Love Train, and joined the Oak Ridge Boys for Elvira. Their video for Thank God I'm a Country Boy is a real treasure. Finally, I want to recommend a non music routine from their live shows (these are my favorites). They have a routine called Story Time With Tim with the others just sitting around making comments while Tim totally entertains us. My favorites are called Watch Me (Nae Nae) and Natemare (that's not a typo, the guy's name is Nate). Hope you enjoy those. And thank your for your fun reactions.

The main difference between the film version and the Home Free version is that HF do not try to make fun of the song but take it on its own terms - a song about loss and loneliness. If you want action, I suggest the movies.

The jaw harp sound was made by Adam Chance (as you saw him doing it at the end). The bass, Tim Foust has an incredible 5 octave range. The beat boxer Adam Rupp ate a drum kit as a child... he also has put out a video on how he does the harmonica. The two tenors, Austin Brown and Rob Lundquist both are fantastic in their own right. I enjoyed your reaction... welcome to the Home Free rabbit hole 😁

Hi Bob, Great catch on the bass drop with Tim Foust.. 👍🏼 yes he rattles walls and has blown speakers Also really Great catch on the “jaw harp” with Adam Chance (known as Chance), the silky smooth baritone/bass! On stage when they do this song, he starts it and then they do layer this in, to save Chance’s throat. Also, layered in this time is Rob Lundquist (Bearded Wonder) Beautiful Tenor! Doing the repeat of dum, dum, do In this video they also did layer Adam Rupp (Freak of Nature)so that he could lay down the beat and do the “harmonica”, but on stage Austin Brown (first singer) crazy high tenor, not an understatement…. can do the harmonica as well. BTW, They all can beatbox, and imitate other various instruments like banjo, and guitar… and more So much fun. The rabbit hole is deep and wonderful Enjoy the ride! We Home Fries love our guys.

You're absolutely right...they are super talented. These five have been together since 2016. They have such versatility it's amazing. They call themselves the only Country Vocal Band and they do country very well. However, if you're interested in R&B soul type, cover of Boyz2Men End of the Road and a newer release of When a Man Loves a Woman. For pure fun and a lot more action in a video you must check out their Butts Medley or Country Fried Pop Medley.
