When I found this on Marketplace for free, I was pretty excited. If you've seen my other makeovers, you'll know that I've done a few 'faux' drawer projects where I create the illusion of there being more drawers than there really is; this time, I had 30 real drawers to work on. This was quite the time consuming process, from cutting them all to the same length, sanding off the paint, smoothing all the edges, and cleaning the insides. However, time consuming does not necessarily mean difficult. The real challenge of this project was in cutting the body's depth down from 28 inches to 21 inches. I actually went out and purchased a reciprocating saw to accomplish this; I don't know if there may have been a better way, but after a lot of contemplation, that's the method I landed on. The cuts didn't turn out the cleanest -- at least not clean enough for me to want to present it as the front of the piece -- so I resorted to taking off the back panel and electing that as the new front of the piece, while covering up the side that I had just butchered.
If you enjoyed this makeover, please do me a favor and like the video. And if you have any questions, I would be happy to answer your comments.
Thank you for watching :)

Wow, this furniture restoration video is absolutely captivating! The level of skill and craftsmanship displayed here is truly awe-inspiring. I'm in complete awe of how this piece of furniture has been transformed with such care and attention to detail. Amazing work! 👏🔨✨"By the way, I have a hunch that the bird's call you heard could be from an Eurasian bullfinch. While they are considered rare in Canada, they do exist in North America, and they are quite common in my home country, Norway. It's fascinating to think that their melodic calls might have reached your ears all the way over there. Nature has a way of surprising us! Keep exploring and enjoying those beautiful bird encounters.

Thanks for the bird ID. I've just been listening to recordings of blue jays on my bird app (we don't have them in the uk), they have such a diverse repertoire and the "whisper song" of a blue Jay is so strange, it sounds like someone throwing a load of springs into a piano and giving it a shake 😅

I agree with everyone: you have a gift for making an old cabinet look new and your video editing is on point. An absolutely excellent job! I'm a Gunsmith which of course involves many small parts and pieces. I really love these old wooden parts storage cabinets and wish I had several of them of various sizes in my shop to store all my parts in. When I look at pictures or videos of old Gunsmithing shops the different types of storage bins that were used back then are always one of the main things that catch my attention. I also really like just the overall look and feel they give to the shop. They are so much better looking and last way longer than the plastic ones that you see every where nowadays.

Also, they make slightly different sounds from region to region. When I’m visiting my kids in Toronto, I notice they make slightly different sounds than where I live about 200 km away. The KZfaq video entitled Blue Jay - Sounds has a similar call recorded. It’s about the third call in. On another note, your excellent work has inspired me to make my own videos. Great redo on this! I’m glad you kept it rustic and cleaned up the parts that needed fixing. Love the old newspaper details and caster wheels 👍
