Today 25 years before February 9 1994 Azharuddin scored 152 against Sri Lanka 3 test match against Sri Lanka in Ahmedabad. This pitch very tough spin bowling condition.first innings Sri Lanka scored 119 runs only.this test match Azharuddin 9 th wicket partnership with Rajesh Chauhan 67 runs very crucial because . Rajesh Chauhan not scoring runs for more than 50 balls. Sachin was never comfortable against teams like England, South Africa, West Indies and Zimbabwe. The had clever field placements for Sachin to get him out early. Never allowed Sachin to settle down. It is only from the mid 90's that Sachin learnt the knack of tackling these teams. Sachin started scoring odi hundereds only after he started to open the innings for India.

Sachin was an accomplished test player than an odi player. He was not naturally suited for odi format. He scored his first half century in his very second test. And soon scored a test century. Odi was a different story.

96 , 97 , 98 , 2000 and 2007 were the years when Sachin played max amount of odi. A period when jagmohan dalmiya was commercializing the game in partnership with the icc.

Sachin highest score in this 7 match odi series was 32. Pathetic. Sachin had more of a mental block to clear the 30's in odi. Once he scored his first fifty , there were many that came. The same happened with his 1st odi century. 78 odi to score first century was a very long wait.

Bur lately with his being ambitious & bad habits he lost the magical touch... He career has been sabotage in well planned manner... Yes. It was the first series where they used third umpire. The idea was that green meant "go" and red meant "stop" in traffic lights. Soon they settled with red as "out" and green "not out".

Total of 200 seems very less but batting conditions were tough, scores of 220 to 230 were seen as good defend-able totals. India could have scored more if Openers Raman and Jadeja took advantage of fielding restrictions. Prabhakar also should have put his foot on the pedal at the 20 over mark itself. score was 100 at 30 over mark! Of course RSA fielding was the best among all nations, even better than Australians, about 20-30 runs were saved for sure. Outfield was huge, so another 20-30 runs saved there. Lastly, bowling was superb, devilliers did a maiden wicket 43rd over and that too off Tendulkar was was the teenage sensation at that time.

Almost 25 yrs of international cricket for Sachin. A long wait of 4 yrs to score his first odi century. Pathetic avg in 1990 , 93 and 2005. Took a long time to adjust to the one day format. Indian fans consider him as God of cricket but world cricket does not have the same opinion. World cricket has many players who are better than Sachin. What comedy !!
