Want to shout out Rubberduckyisopods.com and ‪@themantisgarden‬ - they pointed me in the right direction to find some of this information (No clips were taken from them, but who knows maybe you guys ask for a longer mold video and I more formally use the information given to me by them) and were willing to pick their brains - but then I changed directions on the video to something more aligned with what I do.

This video was so needed on KZfaq. Everyone who panics about mold needs to see this. My anxiety is now not only reduced but I’m reassured I’m actually providing good soil and nutrients to my animals. Also, God save the springs. Thanks Juice!

Mold is unjustly maligned indeed. There are some "bad" fungi spezialized for feeding on arthropods, but most are benign or even beneficial. I even regularly have glowworm eggs hatching healthy and normal from under a thick cover of mold fluff...

yeah exactly, I often see people say "OMG MY TARANTULA WILL DIE'. And I have to be like, no, your tarantula will be fine if the humidity in the enclosure that is beneficial to said fungus is the conditions the tarantula thrive in. If its an arid tarantula, thats a different story

Great video! I've studied fungi, even did research on ganoderms (not very productive but fun nonetheless). I have panicked many times over weird fungi in enclosures so it was good to see this to be a little more aware 😊😊

Only about a minute in so far, but my mycologist professor told me "food doesnt really 'go bad', something else just eats it first" And found that to be a fun way to look at it lol
