I'm a black Republican and Trump is actually the first GOP president I did not vote for. I just couldn't do it. He's horrible, a true ridiculous imbecile. HOW could Melik do it? That I'll never understand it either......literally WTF? . And I agree with Monique on this one actually, I think she said it perfectly. I used to be Melik once, that same arrogance and attitude. My family has always been well off and I've had lots of opportunities in life that the broader community has not, but as I've gotten older (in my 30s now lol) I have matured to realize that I've been blessed, there's been some luck (along with some hard work....and god) that had gotten me to where I am. Because there may not be as many people that look like me in the same circles, it's not because they are lazy or because they aren't trying hard enough. It took me a long time to come to grips with that because I just couldn't see anything outside of my own bubble and for that I apologize. It was wrong and frankly ignorant. Not everyone has the same opportunities. Some people don't have any boots to even begin to pull straps from, if you will. People like Melik are the reason why most people don't take Black republicans seriously OR tend to run away from us. You can still be a conservative, support more fiscally conservative policies or be socially traditional, BUT admit and call out racism when you see it. CLEARLY Melik is a phony.....if he was a true traditionalist or a conservative or a christian with great faith he could have never supported Trump......I mean COME ON. It breaks my heart, most of my fellow black republicans who have a chance to get on TV and actually enter a dialogue mess it up and alienate people by using horrible right wing talking points or pretending that because THEY have no experienced something, it means no one is experiencing that.
