You can say that, but most chess players are pretty pozzed and pro Communist. This is not 'hate', btw, I don't mind young people being naive, I'm just positing a simply observed fact of life. I'm hoping this will become a scandal about how Magnus is a white supremacist who hates blacks and probably Jews too (which is what Communists on Twitter will typically say of anybody mentioning Pepe.) Chess is always such a boring scene, but with Martial Law ('corona lock down') and Financial Collapse ongoing, everything is politics now.

Nakamura is great. Obviously he’s one of the greatest chess players in the world but only in lower time constructed games. As the games grow longer and more time is allowed to think other grandmasters outshine Nakamura. The thing about Magnus is he is one of the very best in every time variation. Nakamura’s record against Magnus in classical is something like 22-3. I don’t remember the exact numbers but it’s up there. Him and magnus are my two favorite chess players so watching them go head to head after nakamura has started to gain a lot more recognition is awesome!

@@nirolf12 Yes, you do study differently. There's a reason the categories are split and have separate rankings. The play style, method of calculation is different. Blitz requires more spatial and pattern recognition, whereas Classical requires more calculation.

I found a big flaw from this new comment system (mobile at least) : You just gonna get spoiled of stuff that you shouldnt know because right on the landing page you will see the top comment.

Too bad New York Yankees lost the series. They won the first game 11-1 but after that lost 3-2, 5-3 and 8-5. More runs but lost the series. That is how these things work. Marathons not sprints.

It's Armageddon. I think they were both at about 1 minute on the clock when that happened. There's no increment so both guys are playing as fast as possible to not get flagged

No matter how you claim yourself to be 'world champion' or 'the best', a simple engine running on 1 CPU core can defeat you 10-0, so stop pretending that you are the frontiers of chess. Chess is no longer about winning and, a term that MC loves to use, 'crushing' the opponent. It is about: (i) Creating beautiful games regardless of the outcome; (ii) Growing the chess community, an underdog e-sports. MC is too toxic to the community by now.

MC is a disgrace to the chess community. All the snides he made about Hikaru aside, he said about Firouzja "I just want to crush him. The fact that (I didn't sweep him) pissed me off". How derogatory can he be to a young teenager. MC has no grace in chess, no class. A real disgrace to chess.

I really believe this matchup was great to watch, and featured some of the best play. Rapid is by far my favourite time format, it’s enough time to find great amazing tactics and ideas.
