This is to show some of my reworkings of the technique, and I hope to show so points I made to clarify it with the text. My hands have had the habit of lifting high (see previous rule 1s) So the shoulder height is to train them lower (rule 1 says in front of the face, rule 2 in front of the eyes).

PLEASE do more guides like this for the other rules. i just started practicing with the weapon recently and this video was the best video i have seen for explaining this.

Appreciate the video, I am curious would you change the angle of the strike if you were up against multiple Pikemen? It's just that compared to your original interpretation it looks like the more horizontal strike doesn't provide as much coverage, just looking at 0.52 - 0.53 by the time the sword comes to the fore front it looks like it may just be able to intercept a thrust to the chest, can't quite make out the elevation of the tip but may provide some protection for the head as well. The more diagonal attacks in your original interpretation appear as if they'd provide better protection against multiple opponents trying to thrust a spear/pike in your direction quite similar to how Fiore references breaking the thrust by beating them downward or even knocking them aside with a rebatter. I am no expert, just genuinely interested.

I've a question on the revezes in Figueiredo's rules. In the first rule it is stated that the revez should be done with the false edge of the montante but afterwards it's not mentioned. With some testing I've found that whenever I want to do a very wide revez (for instance in rules III and IV giving them while standing still, and galley gangway as well as in rules VIII, Lady guard, XII and XVI) it seems easier to give it with the false edge. However I've seen videos (for instance Montante niño) in which people use the false edge revez only in rule I and otherwise always perform the revez with the true edge. What is your opinion on this - does it matter if the revezes are with a true or false edge?

+LondonLongsword :D, but seriously... This video really helped me grasp the Figuryedo rules. Except for one thing: The manual says that the talho is brought from low to high, so how exactly is the lateral sweep from low to high?
