I haven't been over by Elephant's Trunk yet this year. I guess that's one of the good things about it: It doesn't see a lot of traffic so fresh snow lasts a while. The different sides of the mountain will have different snow conditions on the same day... I filmed this as it was warming up in the afternoon, but it can be a bit icy in Montezuma Bowl (and The Beavers) due to freeze thaw cycles. The front side gets less sun, so the conditions are more consistent. Enjoy your ski trip!

Hi i’m a bit late but if you ever go back i’ve been going to a basin for years so I know some little tips for where to go. Montezuma is usually icy in the morning bc of freeze melt cycles as said above so you really want to avoid it in the morning or if it’s not sunny. If there isnt good snow anywhere the beavers usually has really good snow. After they get a bunch of snow usually the best spot for it is to the left of the pali lift. All the hardest runs (except for east wall) are all to the right of the pali lift so those are fun. Lots of steep gnarly tree chutes.
