The plaintiff had a child with the defendant when she was 15 and the defendant was 17. The plaintiff says the defendant was in and out of jail for a lot of their son’s life and owes her over $18,000 in child support, so she’s suing. The defendant says the plaintiff left their son on his doorstep and didn’t see him for seven years. #JudgeMathis #RealityTV #Court

He is clearly a deadbeat. That was established in court. While he was in and out of prison, she had to make sure the bills got paid. Like she said, she didn’t buy her son one shoe or feed him only half a serving of food because she didn’t have child support. She made sure he had what he needed. She may not be perfect but she did provide for their child.

Only in a minority of cases. If you really want to know the truth you need to look at the prison population, the kids who fail at school, the people with mental problems, the community with the most single moms, the kids in low paid jobs and with low or no school grades, people with a propensity for violence, people most likely to live in poverty, women most likely to have kids by different men, women most likely to have kids out of wedlock and all the bad things that you can think of; the vast majority can be traced back to a single mother.

That's why I appreciate the judge pinning him down on the details of the bald-faced lie that this woman dropped off her kid at his people's house and had not seen him for 7 years. Anytime your own son has to write a letter attesting that you stole his ID and you have no problem with him getting in trouble for your crimes--yeah, you're a deadbeat!

Because it wasn’t true 😳 there were holes all up in that testimony. He claimed he had custody for 5-7 years then gives the date range 1996-2005... 🙄 that’s 9 years! The child support order started in 1997... ain’t no way he or his family wouldn’t have contested the order if they had full custody. So JM glossed over it because it was nonsensical.

You're not a wannabe thug just because you live in a crime infested area. Some places that are currently not crime infested are communities where there is absolutely nothing to do for young people. When there is nothing to do, young folks cause trouble. Some of those "hard" folks move from the city to rural areas and find out that they're not as hard as they thought. It depends on where you are.
