I read this drummer, Pete Sandoval, redefined metal drumming forever. He was the first to take the concept of the blast beat ( which was just super fast single strokes on the snare, bass D. + cymbals) and actually put its concept into a timee signature. And other time signatures he could actuals use as beats and to metronome time. It was no longer just limited to extreme noise for music sake😉 . he changed metal forevever. one of the true legends. To a great man and a great drummer. To pete sandoval 🤘 the highest of horns

Intro is hypnotizing Lyrics These chains that have choked existence, have fallen away this veil that has blinded eyes has been lifted and now it is gone and like the ways of the sheep the flock has been to only receive led to the gates of their enemy led to the slaughter of their beliefs and now their gazing eyes have turned turned to see us laughing these fools who have thought us to be as they are, have never truly seen guided by limiting the ways that they think, they thought us blind and obscene but now the sheep are wailing cries to a god they never see and as the gates are closing down upon the all they have believed and now their pleading eyes have turned turned to see the eyes of the laughing the ties have bound these fools to the ways of the blind, is ignorant bliss lies that were fed to the slumbering mass they've grazed upon it and all that awaits men failing to see, is the sight they've despised the gates have opened, your religion has died

@brianbyrne25188 ай бұрын
a lot of people think they had the best guitarist, drummer and vocalist in David Vincent. And I for one think that was absolutely the case, with their first few albums. It's what set them apart from the pac. God of emptiness is a good example of three super talented musicians creating a masterpiece.

anyone have a source on the drums being fake?
@nj12558 ай бұрын
@@FinalFrontier321 I don't have a source, but AFAIK the drums are replaced with samples in post (something that's been done to some degree on most metal albums from ~2000 and forwards), which is the reason for the drums sounding a bit weird and machine gun-esque. Samplers back then had several thousands times less CPU power and RAM compared to what we are used to today. Aside from that I've also read that the double kick part in the choruses of this song was actually recorded with a 16th note pattern, but was doubled to a 32th note pattern in post. Doesn't matter how they did it, I just love the brutality of the whole album.
