This sequel to THE WILD, WILD WEST TV series is certainly well done, and giving Jonathan Winters a free hand is a stroke of genius. The original series could have been just another James Bond clone, but it went beyond that and worked harder.

Johnathan Winters, Victor Buono and others certainly camp up this lost gem. I grew up with the original and by the time this came out I was too sophisticated, I missed it! Thanks for posting this here. 😊

I watched these guys every week, i loved it at the time. Will Smith episode i didn't care for at all. On another note, i seen Robert Conrad in little town of Sullivan Illinois , little theater on the square, was name of it, there was a play he was in, there was a little bar nearby after the play and he came in and this man i tell you such a rudeness from him that changed my mind of him.

Yeah, that Will Smith movie completely lost the plot of what it was to be the "Wild Wild West". It was like the writers never watched the original show and used a cheat sheet to learn about it(action, disguises, gadgets). As the elements were there, but absolutely none of the heart and soul of the OG television show. When that movie was made, most people who remembered the show were probably to old to care about seeing Will. But for everyone else, the time period, theme and plot got lost, at the end of the day it bombed for no clear understanding of the original, and they just should have made a "western" with Will Smith.

Harry Morgan must have had pictures of the studio heads in compromising positions with sheep; there is no other explanation for his career. The man couldn't have drunk poison and acted sick.

I stopped at 16 minutes in to read the comments. So I'm not the only one, this is not great, not even good, not even ok. It seems it was written by using a checklist of scenes from the series (insert comedy here, insert explosion here, insert fight here), but no real effort has gone into the story or direction. And again, I stopped at 16 minutes in to write this.

What you see here is a prime example of what Hollywood has become in recent times, but taken to the 10th degree. Something like this was made as an executive was like we need ideas, how about a new Wild Wild West TV movie? Great idea. But here comes the problem, none of the people working on this, had anything to do with the original show. This was made for no other reason than nostalgia and to get previous fans of the show to blindly tune in(like so much of TV & films today). I would guess it did fairly well in the ratings, which is rather sad, as it probably never should have been made.

In the fitness room, at about 7:00, The trainer is the famous exercise personality, Jack LaLanne. At 26:43, the Secretary of State is called Dr. Messenger. He kind of looks and sounds like the real Secretary of State, Dr. Henry Kissinger. He is played by the actor, Victor Buono, who played the crazy mad man bent on world domination in the original Wild Wild West series. The real Dr. Kissinger was a big globalist and influenced many wars throughout his years. Apparently, the writers of this movie didn't like Henry Kissinger. I don't blame them.

There were a few moments when this chazzerei approached the original series - alas, a very few. I hope the boys were well paid to endure this script, or at least that the Champagne was real and not ginger ale. Whatever possessed the wardrobe/makeup department to let Conrad/West go all shaggy and moustachio'ed? I've read that there were discussions of the pair doing another movie when Ross Martin had a fatal heart attack. Oh well; this mess of a film was still better than the Will Smith version.

Nicely produced movie, but it's disappointing that it was written as a comedy, which disrespectful to the original TV drama, they shouldn't be making a mockery of what was a great TV western-spy show lampooning it this way. Very out of touch with the character of the original Wild Wild West TV series which was not a comedy.

Why did they make Jim West like, let say like A.smart of Get smart. It's a ridiculous movie. West is totally off character, 2nd wild, wild west movie that is bad. Can't they get right, and yes I liked series.
