7:02 I watched this over and over, just pause this moment and witness this. Nobody on the field understands. 6 Defenders expected a kick, their eyes were on the ball, the keeper was on the ball. Your analysis and explanation was spot on. His teammate didn't think the pass was possible until it materialized. And Busquet pass is more difficult than it looked and Alba's athletism was awesome. As for Messi's pass, we should all go out to the field and see how hard it is for a outside of the shoe pass. Team play at its best.

@@gfer66 Cremashi "wanted" the ball yes, but was he "expecting" the ball to end up where it was? No. Look at the time stamped video shots again !!!! Cremaschi waved & expected the pass to where he was which was 17 meters out, just inside the box. @ 5:58 he was still there, @ 6:12 while Messi's left foot was already serving the ball, Cremaschi was leaning TOWARDS Messi, not to the base line. Cremaschi reacted to where he saw the ball was moving LEFT towards the baseline. Watch a bunch of other videos and there a good 1-2 seconds delay in the audience AND the commentators reaction in realizing where the ball was actually heading. No one was seeing that pass going where it did, including Cremaschi.

@@gfer66Cremaschi asked the ball to his feet, so he can take that 1 on 1 with his marker. He never for a second thought he would get the ball in behind the defense. But props to him, he reacted a second quicker than the left back to get to that ball & cut it back to Messi.

Cresmaschi wasn't just 'standing there'... He was actively calling for the ball and ran to get it. You can dribble and shoot on your own, but a pass requires good teammates who can 'feel' the game and/or react quickly. Anyone who has practiced football/soccer at a decent level knows this. Cresmaschi is a really interesting player, especially at such a young age.

One very important detail is that if Messi touches that pass just a bit to strong, the ball goes outside the line, so he did passed perfectly so that the defender cannot get to it and at the same time the ball does not goes out of bounds, he is two touches ahead as he runs free ahead free knowing he will get the pass back to just push it in, pure magic , pure football IQ ❤

That is perfect understanding of good football. He totally transformed Barcelona, him and Iniesta are one of a kind and I never saw anything close to Messi in Barcelona. Definitely watches this goal and passing skills over 30 times replaying and showing it to my 8 year old son to understand the magic but its impossible even for a grown up to understand how Messi did this amazing pass. It is mind blowing and not only this goal but thank God I have watched every single game Messi has played and he always surprises me. When he retires I dont know what I will do with my life. 😂

That ball to Cremasi is poetic, it seemed that it was even stoping, like Messi just placed it there at the corner of the small box to execute the keeper or like Cremasi did a death pass.
