Journaling in my Nanami Café Note B6 Slim today to help me gather my thoughts and focus on productivity. I share how I've adapted the Morning Pages method of journaling to work for me and take you through writing a page with some of my favorite fountain pens and inks!
The notebook is in a Chic Sparrow B6 Slim folio (retired Holly Wood leather, Enchanted Woods collection) chicsparrow.com/laurenfairwea... (affiliate link - helps fund this channel at no extra cost to you!) and use my code LAURENFAIRWEATHER for 10% off.
The fountain pens I used in this video are the Kaweco AL Sport in vibrant violet, TSWBI Eco in Smoke and Rose Gold, Conklin Duragraph in rainbow, and Benu Talisman in Peacock Ore.
Inks I used: J Herbin Poussiere de Lune, Robert Oster Choc Pudding, Diamine Polar Glow, and Diamine Syrah.
If you need help finding a particular product I used in this video, leave a comment and I'll try to help if it's still available somewhere!

I like how you start by encouraging everyone feel free to go with their individual style and interpretation of journaling. That’s really a nice positive message 😁

Thank you! I love being inspired by other folks’ journals here and on Instagram, but I can see where it can be intimidating when you see so many polished pages. Everyone is different!

My regular journalling is pretty much like morning pages. The only differences is that I decorate and I do it whenever, but usually at night. It’s almost like unloading before bed. I don’t try to try to be positive, I complain, I reflect, whatever comes out of the pen. It’s like a direct connection from brain to pen and I just go blah.

I definitely complain and vent in my journals too (it's such a good place for that!), I just try to motivate myself with this particular approach and staying positive for that helps me.

Love this so much! Everywhere else that I have seen about morning pages it’s all about just writing 3 pages but I love your perspective on it. Make it work for you, not you working for it. If you don’t have time very first thing in the morning before all else or can’t write 3 full pages every single morning (that’s me), it’s okay! Even the way you’ve added a few decorations as you went is encouraging that there isn’t one way to do morning pages.

I started doing morning pages late last month and I've found that it really helps me clear out the clutter in my mind and work through things. I too enjoy putting a bit of decoration on my pages and I've been enjoying watching my notebook fill up! Love watching your videos!

I used to do morning pages when I first woke up back when I commuted to work, because it was a great way to organize my brain before leaving the house for the day. But the longer I worked from home, the more it fell by the wayside. I still have the notebook where I kept these pages (it was a cheap one from B&N and the pages are almost rough, but my Pilot G2 feels so good writing on it), so I'm hoping to get the habit going again this summer.

Love it as always…might be motivated to do a morning spread, vs. a catch up at the end of the week; fill in what i remember from each day kind of spreads!

"Do what works for you" is definitely the best message.... otherwise folks give up. I write every night about the day, but I'm liking this idea of starting the day with random thoughts and jottings. I tend to use my planners... Hobonichi and Jibun Techos.

I like writing first thing in the morning (or last thing at night), but my schedule is making it a bit more difficult these days. Maybe right after breakfast will work? Right now what I'm doing is writing a short blurb about each day in my 5-year journal. Longer brain dumps go in my more private journal and happen whenever needed. 100% agree that journaling is all about finding what works for you and there is no right or wrong way!

Ooh, I’ve never been inspired to do morning pages until now! Would be a fun way to just try out different journaling and journal decorating styles each day. In my bullet journal I care so much about it all being in a similar style and looking a certain way, but I’m thinking of starting a separate journal for this! Thank you for the idea, and for reminding me to give myself permission to explore. 🧡

Aww, yay! So happy to have inspired you! One of the reasons why I have so many active journals right now is so I can switch between different styles but keep each journal its own style. I basically just decide what I’m in the mood for and then I know exactly where to put it! Thanks for commenting. 💕

I started daily journaling at the start of this month and started out without decorating my pages. But I too have a lot of stickers and washi that i collected over the years and never use so i figure might as well. If not now use them now, then when? I wanted to keep the journaling within an hour but picking out stickers and trying to decorate and then trying to figure out what to write makes it closer to two hours. but it does gets easier as i'm slowly getting used to it and found a style that i like. i might try different layouts in the future. I couldn't decide when i should be doing my journal at first but i figured it out. After meals and before I do my yoga is the perfect time. I can journal while I wait for the food to digest. Usually I do yoga in the afternoon or evening. But I wanted a more structured and productive morning routine. Shuffling the time for me to practice yoga and do journaling to morning is pretty easy :)

Thanks so much! The B6 is the Nanami Cafe Note with grid paper, but they currently only have it available with the new Tomoe River Paper which I don't like as much (looks like they're testing it with the Sanzen version and reviews of that are better!): www.nanamipaper.com/products/cafe-note-b6-slim-new-trp-grid.html And the washi is Classiky Old Book 10mm in blue, I forget where I got it but Yoseka has it in a pack of three: yosekastationery.com/products/classiky-yoko-inoue-old-book-10mm-masking-tape-set-of-3?_pos=14&_sid=360204af7&_ss=r

Hi, I use a bullet journal with weekly spreads and write a little bit every day. I heard about morning pages but it really did not work for me.Not a morning person oh well.
