Mortised Newel Post to Staircase

How to mortise a newel post so it will fit over the bottom of the stair stringer and make a solid connection with adhesive and lag screws. This is a great technique for stairs finished with rug or hardwood treads.

Hi Scott great job! It’s your SWAT Team emblem ! Our was SIU and we were not Swat thou we used them often! We were a team that targeted career bad guys ! Oh boy now we are covering history!

Almost right. Our team is called the ETU; the hat is from the ETF - probably the best known tactical team in Canada. Their guys trained ours. Anyway, glad you liked the video. Cheers, Scott
