Hell yeah they do. It's what sets this channel apart from others that feature bug on bug crime, and it's so damn irritating to see people cry and complain about it on nearly every single one of their videos. Like, you can hit exit or mute and turn on the subtitles if it's THAT bothersome 🙄

@@Vassild Not at all! I would've never thought that I could be this invested into watching bugs lmao. Best accidental discovery of the year so far. I really hope they're in the process of filming new content right now and that's the reason we haven't seen anything new in a while..

@@NicaremE One that's designed to kill but you right. I speak from personal experience though, even herbivorous katydids have a pretty gnarly bite and are extremely powerful. It's like if you took a cricket, drained all of the basic bitch out of it and replaced it with pure, unadulterated badass.

It's worth noting that a lot of the katydid's supposed size on the mantis is partly because of its large wings. The actual main body is a bit smaller, but it's still a more heavily built animal than the mantis. Even so, I've seen mantises take on prey larger than themselves and win. I wanna see one of these katydids take on a jerusalem cricket or something.

When we were 7, my three friends Kurt, Mikey, Timmy, and I, were attacked by a 4 foot long katydid. We ran, but little Timmy wasn't as fast as the rest of us, the Katydid grabbed poor little Timmy, we made our get away while the Katydid was busy eating him. They're killers. That poor little owl caterpillar never had the chance to grow up and emerge as a pretty owl. How sad.

So, we have a caterpillar getting offered up as a sacrifice, a Mantis 1/3 it's size, a Locust, offscreen, and... another, smaller katydid. Things that Katydid's lose to that I can think up off the top my head: Bigger Preying Mantises. Goliath Crickets. a Giant Hornet. Tarantulas. Scorpions. Centipedes. Maybe even a Tiger Beetle or big Cockroach? Katydids are pretty mid-to-low tier in the insect world.
