In this review, Chris talks through the Klim Krios Pro helmet. Very rarely does one come across a product that is truly revolutionary, but the Klim Krios Pro is a helmet that is, thanks to its Koroyd lining. Made from extruded, plastic straws, it absorbs between 25% and 35% more energy than a traditional eps-lined helmet does. But, as Chris explains, it’s an extraordinary helmet in other ways too.

Klim responded to my email question, they will begin manufacturing to the new ECE 22.06 spec starting January 2021.

Great review (as are all your reviews) I won't be rushing to buy one as I'm dissapointed with my 2018 Klim Krios. Very light but rubbish visor and peak, feels cheap. I will stick to my Arai Tour X.

I find it incredible that crash helmets haven't improved technologically since polystyrene was put between two bits of plastic. OK. We've come a little bit away from that's in sense of aerodynamics or weigh or fit. However I feel there have been no great advances in fundamental safety in any of the construction of lids by any major player in the business. Until now. I'm pleased Klim are making advances. Other manufactures need to follow suit. The neurologists have the facts. Work with them. Good on Klim for thinking about our box.

The highly engineered closed cell foam in motorcycle helmets is good for 2 years, or maybe 3 before it becomes so hard that the energy absorption is essentially useless. You can't tell that unless you crash in it. So helmet prices have gone totally insane UNLESS they provide foam liner renewal services. All the decent helmets say in the fine print that the life expectancy is not over 3 years. And how long the helmet sat on the store shelves matters too. Buyer beware. No matter how fancy or expensive the helmet is, the same rules apply. Also, NEVER keep your gloves in the helmet. Any hydrocarbon fumes (like if you gas up with gloves on) are an early death to the foam. It will harden way faster if exposed to fuel vapors. I received this information from a seminar put on by Arai for our Ducati club. If this helmet doesn't use poly foam that is a potential game changer in the life expectancy of an expensive helmet. Very curious why no Snell. It also seems to have no first responder emergency cheek pad pull straps. I'm fairly sure those will eventually be mandatory.

Technology that performs well under the controlled, predictable conditions of a standardized test are very different from the wildly unpredictable world of real crashes.

They need more shell sizes and better fit and finish.

With all that tech baked in... I wasn’t impressed holding it in my hands and trying it on. Cheap plastic parts and overall budget helmet feeling. Will stick with Arai and Shoei.

I am not sure I disagree. There is something about the feel of an Arai and a Shoei that is very reassuring. But Koroyd represents a significant advance over a traditional EPS. And of course it is the lightness of the Koroyd, ironically, that causes the helmet to feel a little bit insubstantial. ML

@@Motolegends the Krios has not much place to store a good communication system. And I mean not the Sena etc. There are some you have to store inside the helmet like blue byte the very best you can get, but because of the honey structure it would be not possible. :-(

We've been through this in a previous video lol and I have to agree to agree with Chris. I personally would've pronounced it Klim. With the stress on the I. Like kleem. But I speak Spanish and Glaswegian, so what do I know??

It's cringe making when a retailer tries to make a credible review and then pronounces the brand incorrectly. Klim is indeed pronounced 'climb'. Pointed out many videos ago..

Yes it’s pronounced climb. Klim’s own website videos feature employees and management who refer to the company as Klim pronounced climb.

And made in china. Visor is flimsy garbage compared to shoei or arai and its horrificly loud. Buy a good helmet

This guy manages to mispronounce every helmet company's name...POM! It's Arai (uh-rye), Shoei (show-ay) and Klim (klime). Holy hell Mr. Lunchtime Biscuit...leave your small Euro bubble.
