FILM DESCRIPTION:
Wall Street baron Steven Taylor (Michael Douglas) discovers that his pretty young wife, Emily (Gwyneth Paltrow), is cheating on him. But what concerns him more than her infidelity is the hope of profiting from her untimely death. Emily has millions, and Steve's own financial empire is collapsing before his eyes. He hires her lover, David (Viggo Mortensen), to murder her. The plan -- to stage a break-in that will look like a random murder -- turns out to be far from perfect.

I like the friendly, even caring tone when he says "All right?" at 1:26. Like he despises his wife so much that he is able to talk even to her lover as a freind.

I’m not sure how you get a friendly and caring tone from that. It was more like “hurr durr, David, use your head.” It was totally a condescending tone, not a caring tone. 🤣

The cops could have easily found the key behind the pipe, and they would have made the connection that it must've been her 'missing' house key. If and when they check it for prints, they would've found hers on it. Perfect murder my ass.

the key behind the pipe would have been used the the killer to gain access in the apartment, he would likely keep the key or throw it somewhere or later return it to Steven...he wouldnt put it back behind the pipe after the murder...

They could have but Steven busted the lock on the door so it would be obvious it was forced entry rather than a key entry.
