Yeah I certainly do, the first truck I ever drove was a Mack superliner, back in the 80's in Australia, that old superdog was imported into Australia from the states by the owner, and I took it around the clock, clocking up almost 1m kilometres on it myself. I certainly miss that old dog, with the 600 ponies under the hood.

@CGT80
@CGT80 9 ай бұрын
It only seems quiet, unless you are comparing it to other videos of similar machines. They were very loud when I was a kid and would see them. I have run new machines and they are so quiet they can sneak up behind you like a car or pickup truck. The Jackson Brothers have two D11 dozers. kzfaq.info/get/bejne/o95ybMyQupezhKM.htmlsi=Ix192GopQboOb6Ix The big equipment has big engines and big engines don't usually spin as fast and they make tons of torque. I think the engine in the D11 only goes to 1800 rpm for normal operating range. They sound quiet because they spin slower and with such a narrow rpm range, they don't have to be revved high for full power. You don't hear the sound change as much as a small machine like a skid steer.

Idea for an episode. You may already have this in mind, but I thought I would suggest it anyway. On the “incredible driveway” you built a couple years back (you do have some gear parked alongside there) OR back along the back side loop around driveway (which the bride may prefer since you want to build your house at the end of the main driveway) you build 45 degree parking pads (nicely gravelled) for each of your treasures. Will keep of the grass and mud while not in use and would be a wicked display. Finally THANKS for the OSHA jingle - long overdue. Thanks for sharing. Ps can we get a nice high view straight down to re-familiarize with the farm layout?

NICE Video!! I liked the back of the Tee shirt with the Olds hit and miss on it, that's what I collect, about 70, of the hit and miss engines, and have went to most shows here in the Midwest around Mo, at one time or another. I didnt get a picture of a old shovel at the Montgomery City, Mo show this weekend, or a good look at it , had rubber tires on it, and UTIL or partial lettering on the boom, dont think I had ever seen one like it, others were saying the same. Been watching you work on the D 8, especially stringing rope, it brings back a memory as a kid, 65 now. But I was about 5 or 6 years old, and the neighbors where having a 2 acre lake built, next door, and Mom would let me sit by the fence watching the EARLY D8 pulling a rope pan, and a D9 pushing dirt, one day the man running it, named George Clinton, noticed I had been watching a couple days, and stopped, and walked over, and told me, IF I GOT a permission note from my Mom he would give me a ride on it!! YEAH BUDDY that was cool, for about a hour, then the rope to pan broke, Dad had got home from work, and came looking for me, and offered to help George out, to rerig the pan, George only had 1 arm!! He kinda got offended , he could do things with only 1 arm, from the elbow down and a hook on left, most men with 2 arms could do in less time!! He came over the next day and kinda apologized he wasnt used to anyone giving him a hand! Dad had a Lincoln/ Wisconsin welder, and was good with it, that I still have, and done some welding for him, in the fields on another farm next door, he was clearing, and broke something, and became good friends with him, as Dad had a old skeleton Ford backhoe he started out with. That backhoe of my Dads I missed getting, after 50yrs not knowing what had happened to it, when he bought a NEW Massey Ferguson, with the slide hoe, JUNK, we later got Fords 4500,s, as I seen it go by my house on a private road, and talked to the guy that owned it later, and where it had come from!! Never knew he had it BUMMER. Try running that D8 with just your right arm, and imagine just a hook on your left sometime! a Helluva man he was. Glad some younger guys are saving these to, I used to know where a lot of old draglines and cable operated stuff was, in my hunting days we would run across a few, most were scrapped out later...

I'm a huge 'real Diesel power' fan as none of this modern Common Rail stuff interests me or even sounds the same, terrific videos as usual, Matt, you have a great natural style with clear narration and easy for us British viewers to understand ! No fuss, no drama just.. pure entertainment..glad to see you put a proper exhaust extention on it ! those fumes will do your lungs in eventually!

One could easily assume Scrappy's truck has a dead miss by the sound on video, but the best way to tell for certain is to do a IR temp gun check on exhaust manifold ports. If you got a cold port, you got a miss. (or crack each injector line and listen for changes, or unplug if electronic)
