In all of opera, having written one myself, I feel most attracted to this aria: a 2:22 conclusion to a 3.5 hour opera...

@@SonicPhonicDas was du da siehst und hörst ist keine Arie. Arien werden von einem Solisten alleine gesungen. 😉

L'interpretazione più impressionante di quest'aria eccezionale per me! Dietrich Fischer-Diskau e Kiri Te Kinawa esprimono il genio creativo unico di Mozart in un modo incomparabile - nella lingua che parlano gli angeli del cielo.

Agree wholeheartedly with Erin. The cast express the music and the words so eloquently. And to see that tear running down the cheek of Kiri Te Kanawa... Truly overwhelming.

What a magnificent interpretation of this aria in this moment, unique, uniting the best singers of the moment, Dame Kiri Te Kanawa and Mr Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau whose memory we salute. I am deeply nostalgic for the period when they excelled, for their art, on all the lyrical stages of the world. The perfect interpretation of Mrs. Kiri Te Kanawa, very invested in the role of the Countess, moved to tears, deeply moved me. I frequently listen to this video which becomes, truly, an archival document for future generations.

Do you think she knows how amazing that was? Props to Mozart, but she elevated it to something I have never heard from anyone else.

You like Lennon’s “imagine”? Basically a communist anthem. Was he commissioned to write it? Sorry for the digression from this masterpiece.

can pls somebody tell me, why it means 'contessa perdono' and not 'contessa perdona'? its imperative.
@sandywaddell4303 Жыл бұрын
I think I might’ve answered your question on another thread, but even though it’s usually translated as a verb in the imperative (“forgive me”), it makes sense grammatically if he’s asking for her pardon, thus the use of the masculine noun “perdono.”
