Bought this laptop last week at Best Buy for $949.00. Upgrading from a 5 year old Alienware 17’ i7. This computer knocks the socks off that old paper weight being half the weight. I have an i9 Desktop in the game room when I don’t want to play games in bed. I can’t tell any difference at all between the games I play. I got the 8g 4050 version, 1TB SSD, i7 1350H (I believe), things a BEAST. Beautiful laptop all around. So happy with it.

Please don't take this the wrong way, I like your vids but they are WAY too long. Clean cut and dry info that we need is preferred. I just hate having to hunt down the info that is actually relevant, even with time stamps.

Fantastic review!!! i went and got one on discount yesterday and you're spot on with all the Pros and Cons of the laptop. I think it's probably the most powerful 14" laptop I've ever owned. Personally, I'm not a huge fan of the keyboard, but that's a personal preference as I prefer a keyboard with a little bit height/tactile feel. But I'm sure i can get used to it with time. If they made the keyboard with Doubleshot PBT keys, it will be perfect.

and i am wondering what the bios settings are for the smartfans? If thats even a think with it. I am assuming they are both considered "cpu fans" and run on the same temp curve or if you can toggle one to dc?. I see the command center. You can do this there but I am just curious. Thanks.

the main decision factors for me is battery life and heat especially chassis heat. I currently use a razer blade and i dont really like its hot palm rests. it would be good if reviewers spend some time on how the palm rest and keyboard areas feel when working and gaming.

No ghosting. Wasd area did not get too hot. Warm. Other areas got hot/warm.

I disagree with the QHD vs FHD+. The bigger res screen has better colors (according to some reviews) than FHD+. It is better screen overall, so I see no reason not to choose it over FHD+. The „you will not see the difference” is for average user, not someone who works with color and wants something very powerful yet super portable. Yes, the G14 might have even better screen with mini LED option but I would prefer something with TB4. Additionally You can upgrade MSI up to 64 gigs of RAM, it really gives the edge over G14 in situations when You need that. Was it clarified what was the issue with hibernate mode? For me this might be the sweet spot for people who work with colors and want to game comfortably and need TB4. If TB4 or 64 GB are not necessary, then G14 is better.

1 usb port for peripherals. Tough call just cuz its 3.0. I suppose you could find a keyboard with a bypass for both. 3.0 keyboard/mouse. But, I would put a razer viper on it for sure.

It was at 94c when it crashed. Probably hit 95 internally and thermal safe kicked in.

Those are the exact specs I am looking for to last me the next 5 years or so. Except, these things aren't specing out adaptive sync I dont know why it wouldnt have that.

@@Gargantura They do have adaptive freesync or gsync or variable refresh rate or whatever? Muk switch or no? I don't know how they would run that on one screen. Or do you have to port a monitor to enable it?

Like this review, bought the stealth, returned it because of the msi UEFI key leak, and because it didn't feel as good as the acer triton 300 se. The stealth runs so hot all the time. To be fair, the acer is loud all the time and runs 41c vs 62c with the msi. Even though the new triton 14 studio with the 4070, soldered 32gb ram, is louder and limited, 64 ram for the MSI, the build quality and leaked keys are deal killers.

Can someone explain the MSI UEFI key leaks. I saw the stealth 14 was part of the affected batch of products. Is that a definite deal breaker? Or is it ok to still purchase it?

I’m looking for a good laptop to game on and bring to college. I’m looking at the msi stealth 14 4060, asus g14 4060, razer blade 14 (2022) 3060, or the acer predator trition 300 se 3060. ~$1,800-$2,000 cap.

You could f12 and hang it from a shelf upside down on the mousepad to play games on and get better air cooling lol. with a controller.

@@ruslenantonio7585 youd not use that one as a pc the one thats sitting in your lap would be connected to it via hdmi cable and used as a secondary monitor until it overheated. And then swap em out, rinse repeat. lol

Hello gizmo do you knows why g16 timespy cpu score is so low? Only 9k? 54:28 even though it managed to get more than stealth 14 on cinebench? 48:25 I’m torn between strix g16 (i7 3650hx) vs zephyrus g16 (i7 13620) both of them priced $1400ish but I don’t know if the size and weight difference worth the extra cpu power?

It is related to how the laptops handle dual cpu/gpu workloads. Seems like the stealth does a better job giving the CPU juice in dual load.

im looking to buy this laptop, its perfect for me i do video animations and little gaming and this will be my first laptop that supports more than 60fps and seen this laptop performing very well at even native resolution is fantastic i conform with 60 to 90 fps and 1080p gaming but portability is key feature for me
