I took a course on Iraq in college. I thought it was about the country in general, not just the US invasions. My best buddy in that class was a 40yo black dude named Danny who was a veteran and would light up the liberal arts degree professor trying to badmouth the justification of 2 wars he was in. She’d start getting times lines and facts sort of wrong and he’d just be like “oh boy” and interject. Nothing would get done and it was always funny watching a stubborn old black dude tell her the deal. He’d catch me before class and be like “you believe the dumb shit she had us read”. Right or wrong, Danny was the shit.

Were they really the worst experiences? In hindsight shit is really funny.

I honestly never thought of it like this till I read your comment but I respect that character duo more now.
