7:57, about PhD. PhD is hectic, but the time frame is spread out over 5 years compared to 2.5 years of mtech research. Also PhDs have to cover more subjects and clear a comprehensive exam as well; just wanted to correct myself before frustrated PhDs beat me up :)

Hey ma'am, what is the scenario of leaving PhD in the middle with just an MTECH degree. for PhD in top western universities or "after realizing that research is not for me".

Hi naman... This is very common here in iisc many students who come for mtech here after 1st year if they feel they want to do phd after 1 year they can do intigrated phd from iisc.. and many student even after getting recommendation from professor here go to foreign university.. but if you want to ask about very particular situation or case you should ask some phd student in linked in

Yes, please. It is actually possible in CDS department. I am just btech student my aim is US phd. Thinking to use iisc as stepping stone.

I have prepared from lectures of ravindra babu..though there are many students under 100 rankers who have done preparation from applied gate cse..

I asked a friend he said, the cutoff of gate score was around 750. do rank under 400 approx

Hi its actually 12400 per month so yes its around 3 lakh in 2 years..

Hi himanshu i dont know much about unacademy... I mean i know RBR sir has started teaching there..but recently RBR sir has been a little off so i cant say anything about it... I mean just video lectures are not enough from a coaching institute right..you need their accessibility as well..in case you have any doubts... In that case gate applied course is good

5:24 is python acceptable or only c or c++?

"It's better if students are comfortable with C/C++, as concepts like pointers, memory, and low level data structures are easier to understand and implement, whereas python has its own set of data structures which are ready to use but do not reveal much information about their implementation, at least not trivially. Also, python is much easier to learn and you can learn it when you need to use it, much easier to transition from C/C++ to python than vice versa" via keshav
