Diagnosing and finally fixing the CTIS on my truck, turns out the control solenoid was shorted causing the pressure switch to stay “open” on my truck.

oh for sure, I'm curious how many will simply delete it like the old 5 Tons just because they don't understand it

So I imagine if I was to buy one of these MTVRs I'd have to carry lots of diagnostic tools AFTER I learn how these things are wired? Having had the shit driven out of them by a bunch of 20year old Marines since new as well as minimal maintenance I don't imagine they are reliable any more......

Ross Lambert a simple laptop with Caterpillar, Allison, and Dana software is all you need with a scan tool. Which I have since obtained. They are still rock solid for the most part, and most electrical issues can be ironed out
