I actually really like the incohesive roster, it feels so ridiculous. The voice acting for every character is really good too. It's a game I play and actually laugh a lot while playing. Definitely not perfect but I'm excited for the roster to grow and become even more of a fuckfest.

What’s funny is I completely disagree with his assessment and still found this to be an extremely enjoyable video to watch. I enjoy this game far more than the Nickelodeon game, which to me feels really bland. Also the roster comparison isn’t exactly fair since smash lets you play as a naked hair witch with guns and beat up a gorilla and a 2d video game character that no one under 50 had heard of before they were added (Mr. Game and Watch).

this is FAAAR better than nickelodeon all star brawl. to launch a game at $50, when it's supposed to tout it's unique characters and IP, then not having any voice actors in the game until a year after launch is a huge oversight. NASB felt completely soulless compared to Multiversus

The roster might be crazy incoherence, but at least they had the good sense to make them visually consistent. Compare to Playstation All Stars, where you had cartoony Parappa versus grim dark Infamous dude. I honestly think this is one of the top Smash a likes I've played thus far. Jump Ultimate Stars and Rivals of Aether still better, but it might get better.

Now we just need Knack and Bubzy to truly make Multiversus a masterpiece

I spent most of my time here trying to determine if these were real characters in the game or not. They kept being real.

We need Elmer Fudd in this game. along with the Animaniacs, Neo from the matrix, Beetlejuice, Ace Ventura, The Joker, Dexter, Gumball, Mordecai, and Rigby. We also need Ed, Edd, and Eddy, Daffy Duck, Fred Flintstone, Jay Gatsby, Plank, Samurai Jack, Micheal Jordan, (because they already have Lebron so why not) The Atom, Willy Wonka, and Zorro. and this is just stuff warner bros owns directly

I'd say this is far better than All Stars, and it's free, so that's pretty much a win-win. It focuses heavily on the 2v2 aspect and excels a lot at it because character combos have various different synergies you can play off of. This is helped by how unique every character's move set is. In All Stars, most of the characters reuse a lot of the exact same moves and animations, makes the whole thing feel very bland

I didn't really expect to like this game so much, and I agree with a lot of the talking points in this video. But the fact that these characters are so in-depth and fully realized as their own characters is really incredible. They interact with each other when they get killed, they have custom voice lines for specific teammates and enemies, even the in-game text is in-line with what the characters might actually say. It's like the characters really just jumped out of their respective properties and just continued being themselves, which is really cool to me. Overall, I think if you're interested in this game, and you're between the ages of 7 yrs old to 70, you should definitely give it a try. And like dunkey said, it's FREE.

Those are all good points that I agree with, but multiversus has a functional online, which puts it above smash by default since you can actually play this game

I’m now a grown man currently playing the new Lego Star Wars (awaiting your review on this). I’ve given up hope for Tar War 3: Revenge of the Mentist. It’s gone into the dark abyss of forgotten sequels such as Half Life 3, Battlefront 3, and Balder’s Gate: Dark Alliance 3. Your Lego Star Wars videos are some of the finest cuts of meat on KZfaq, if Lego Wars 3 shows up in the future, I will be satisfied with the grand conclusion

joke or not but i'll be honest, Idk what kid doesn't know about looney tunes, scooby doo or tom and jerry. But I feel it's a little unfair to call the roster out for not having a ton of characters at the start of the games life span, especially since the game is gonna have 2 characters come out with it's first season with the addition of also having a ton more to come.

I think the theme is in the title. It's multiple universes colliding. That phrase usually makes you think of like superheroes from different universes coming together, but this game basically said "nah that shits boring dude. Put Bugs Bunny". I think you nailed it by describing it as a bunch of toys that have no thematic cohesion other than the fact that the child owns the toys and wants to play with them together. It just captures that feeling so well. I wouldn't necessarily think it's a bad thing like how some people in the comments have been saying. Like I wouldn't look at a kid playing with bugs bunny and superman action figures and tell them they can't because there's no cohesive theme between them. It's a similar idea here. The only theme needed here is imagination and the roster does deliver on that premise. The only thing bad here is the jankiness of these hitboxes in the game's current state lol it needs a lot of work, but in terms of the premise I really like it. If we're gonna compare it to the godfather Smash Bros, then think of it like this. Smash was exciting cause it sold the idea that any video game character could make it in and they really delivered on that promise. Multiversus, despite having one owner, sells a similar idea because of how varied the genres are. It feels like anyone can join this toy box and that is exciting. They just need to make the game function well.

We might not know what age group this game targets, but that's OK, because it's got a little something for everyone.
