I still don't get how shoulders are seen as sexual body parts. They're shoulders. They keep you arms in place.
@charlie1567
@charlie1567 2 жыл бұрын
Depending how conservative the church is, you“d be expected to cover your arms, body up to below the knees at least and no deep plunge or cleavage. Since she, her family and fiancé are Croatian I assume she attends a traditional catholic mass. If you want to visit churches and monasteries in Italy , the Vatican or Spain for example, many have clothing rules. We visited a few years ago a monastery in my region in Germany with a beautiful church, and there was as well a board outlining what appropriate clothing one should wear in church and how to approach the monks since it was a silent convent.

@chlorophyllheart

@@letitianaidoo4267 yes, so just because it's not a sexual organ doesn't mean it's not sexy. Seeing clavicles can be sexy, shoulders, forearms etc. Just because it's not attractive to you doesn't mean it isn't to others, and even though you and I can reduce it to a bodily function, it will still be attractive to someone. And that's why some religions want it covered. Other people not controlling their desires and placing that responsibility onto others is a separate issue.

Personally, I don't think it's anyone's business what you wear to YOUR wedding. It's about the bride and groom. NOT bride, groom, her mother, his mother. What's next, is mom gonna dictate what goes on in the marriage too? The dresses she put on were fine for ANY venue. Very modest. Mom's gotta cool her jets!

A lot of churches have dress codes because of conservative moral views. It was the church dictating and not the mom. Look at the royal families in Europe who were wed inside churches. Even they can't go against the dress code. If people want to show skin, they can opt out a church wedding and use other venues.

She literally said she wanted to stay away from Mermaid and Trumpet style and as soon as she puts it on she says, " This is what I was looking for" I think a lot of times people will assume they don't want or don't like something even though they've never seen themselves in it. They should first try it on to rule it out. I have always said I DO NOT want to get married in white but I've never seen myself in a white wedding dress. Because of that, the first thing I try on will be a white dress, to rule it out and to make sure I actually don't like it and not just think I don't like it.

I hate the bottom of the dress. I’ve never seen anyone wear anything like that in Australia, the way the fabric is draped looks messy to me. But I’ve seen lots of American brides in say yes to the dress go crazy for this style. Must be an American thing

The bride was not in the least confused. Her mother was forcing her to adhere to a dress code that did not work with her desired style. And how are those two chunks of lace a "perfect match" for that heavy satin gown with not a scrap of lace? She would have looked much nicer with a little shrug she could rip off the moment she hit the reception.

I have issues with the whole sillouette, just because you attach a little fabric it is still the basic strapless tight style. The only thing I like is the skirt. I understand the shift to this style of wedding gown. You get red carpet vibes plus it is much easier to alter usually. I like the slightly off the shoulder look myself that has actual armholes as opposed to straps. Ever since I was a little girl, my dream wedding was going to be a vintage style, as someone in love with edwardian fashion, I want a gored skirt, with a slightly off the shoulder cap sleeve. I wish I saw more of that type of stuff on these shows.

Why does every iteration of the SYTTD franchise have female consultants doing all of the work and a pompous guy who come in and mansplains, then takes all of the credit? It’s annoying and sexist.
