I loved this song as well I can tell you that since he sang this original song in Japanese, "please don't go " "Stay with me always" The people of Japan love him, they couldn't believe his Japanese was perfect, as if it were his mother tongue. Dimash is amazing, he said he will only sings the songs if lyrics connect to feelings of his heart and the emotions within the depths of his soul. That's why he so phenomenal also, he doesn't have to step into character for anything he sings "ever" because He is the character. I saw Queen twice , My best concerts ever untl I saw Dimashs concert in 2019. I really didn't know there were so many people that didn't know Dimash is a composer, he writes and composes many of his songs. Igor Kutroie and Dimash for the most part work together collaborating music, There are a few songs that were written by others, but composed for Dimash by Igor, he came out retirement just for Dimash. Pretty special. We're all blessed to be living in this time and witnessing the rise of this humbled soul who truly loves all people. Andrea, one has to be emotionally out of balance not to feel the vibes DK gives off in this classic Japanese song. Great job spoken through the heart. The composer complimented DK for giving homage as the best rendition he has ever heard and from a foreigner. The Chinese melody (different lyrics) was Autumn Strong done in 2017 on the Singer series. One of the things that DK does is takes one on a journey and heals the soul a little bit, but brings you into a landing softly as if gliding back to Earth and re-entering ones physical state again as you open your eyes to reality. No singer like him that I have ever encountered. Thank you so much for taking the time out of your long day and doing this all alone during the holidays. I do miss Sean's witty comments and your retorts. Andrea, I really enjoyed watching your reaction to this performance, and I agree with you. I've never heard such beautiful sounds coming out of anyone...ever. In a live online instagram chat last week, Dimash said that "Ikanaide" was his favourite song in his repertoire. So, he agrees with you too. Besides the achingly beautiful melody, I think that in this controlled studio environment, we can hear Dimash's exquisite breath control and dynamics as perhaps never before. Koji Tamaki's solo "Ikanaide" (Don't Leave Me Alone) single from November 1989. It was used as the theme song for the Fuji-TV 30th Anniversary commemorative drama "Sayonara, Ri Koran", a biography for the singer Yoshiko Yamaguchi who had gone by the name Li Hsiang-lan or the Japanese Ri Koran while living in the Republic of China around World War II. This particular song would probably be the quintessential Tamaki song showing off that remarkable high range. Since its release, it has been covered in both Mandarin and Cantonese by a number of other singers. Koji Tamaki has commented on this performance saying it is the best performance he had heard from a foreign singer. This was a very enjoyable reaction. This is quickly becoming one if not the favorite Dimash performance for me and it invokes a very visceral response in me, just as "Ave Maria" did. Dimash sang “Ikanaide” for the Tokyo Jazz Festival in January of 2021 from what looks like his studio at home. According to several native Japanese speakers, Dimash’s pronunciation of the lyrics is nearly flawless. One native speaker, who gave a detailed analysis, stated that he is “expressing Japanese more (better) than Japanese” and that he does not only perfectly pronounce Japanese but “expresses Japanese…with Japanese emotion.”. Goro Matsui who wrote the lyrics to “Ikanaide” posted on his Twitter account that he has never heard a foreigner sing in Japanese in such a beautiful way. Tamaki Kōji composed the music and performed the song in 1989. "Ikanaide" became the title song for the Chinese-Japanese TV series “Farewell, Li Xianglan'', filmed that year. It is the story of Yoshiko Yamaguchi, a beloved Chinese-born Japanese actress, and singer during World War II, who hid her Japanese heritage under the name Li XIanglan. Following the war, when the Chinese became aware of her Japanese heritage, she was accused of being a spy and sentenced to death by firing squad for treason and collaboration with the Japanese; she had been involved in the production of Japanese propaganda films. Thanks to the intervention of influential friends she was cleared of all charges but urged to leave China or risk being lynched. She resettled in Japan where she would continue to enjoy a successful acting career. In the 1950s, she moved her acting career to Hollywood and Broadway under the name Shirley Yamaguchi but returned to Japan in 1959, retiring from acting. Lovely reaction. I Really Really love this song too. When I first heard it I had to listen to it everyday at least once. It's definitely one of my favourites. Another one I have just come across is Thousands of miles a dream the one where it shows dimash in a white jacket and he sings with another man ( sorry forgot his name). I absolutely love it when dimash sings low but in this version of the song at the beginning especially his voice is like rich chocolate. I do like the duet but would love to hear dimash sing all of it the way he does in the duet. I've heard his other version of this song but I prefer his deeper rich voice in the duet.
