Your analogy works better for the Injeel than it does for the Quran. In the Quran you have different readings that are supposed to match word for word but don't. So their existence is non-sensical at best. The Quran of today does not come from all the manuscripts that you have, they dont come from Uthman's period,the Hafs Quran's author was born 100yrs after muhammad, but was chosen by the ottoman empire in egypt in 1924, and then chosen later for all in 1934, and then king of Saudi chose it for the whole world of Islam . So, we are older than the Quran.
