Ramadan summarised in a few words: "Breakfast" is done in the evening; "Lunch" is done at midnight; "Dinner" is done in the early morning; Sounds more like sleep deprivation, although you can sleep in between meals and have intermittent sleeping; Conclusion: no fasting involved.

This Islamic woman and most Muslim's idea of fasting is nothing more than what everyone does when they sleep. Furthermore, some switch their days to nights so they can still eat their 3 meals. When people fast and use the textbook definition of fasting, they don't have any intake of food for as short as 24 hours, with most going 72 hours, but it isn't uncommon for people to go 7 days to as long as 40 days with their fasting. Christians use this period to spend time in communion with God.

It's real, the Quran is correct! I saw the sun set in our neighbor's backyard yesterday where they have a muddy pool due to the heavy rain. Alhamdulillah! But I hope it doesn't set in our backyard the next time as our neighbor and his family were toasted dead.

Ramadan is a strange mix. The night time feasting makes it not a real fast, and that would potentially just mess with one's body since instinctively it would expect to sleep then. The water fasting however could be dire, in the way it is taken as a rule for all muslims. As in that will be stressing to anyone with weakened health, as one is up and around in daylight, likely to be losing and using water. Mohammed said Allah wanted to make it easy for them, well the night feasting does mean it's not a true fast, but then the daylight water denial must cause problems for the weaker, when forced or socially pressured religiously to do the fast.

Skipping lunch is not fasting! They just eat at night instead of the day as a ritual. There’s no getting closer to God and asking him to speak to you and love you. It’s all meaningless rituals done out of fear. They do it only because Mohammed told them to do it.

Fasting is your spirit to deny your flesh and to pray and get closer to God. The closer you get to something holy, the more the holiness rubs off on you reflecting that holiness. You spend much time cleaning the outside of the cup but don't spend any cleaning the inside of the cup. You have to clean the inside of the cup so that it can be filled with the Holy Spirit more abundant. This is why Jesus says to his disciples that some demons can not be casted out except through fast and prayer. If we all fasted and prayed, think how far back we would push the evil of this world. When you fast you spiritual senses are heighten, revealing more of the unseen world. I blame the teachers and Shepards that don't show the sheep how to properly fast. Extreme fasting will test your faith. For at our weakest, that is when the evil likes to temp and attack with oppression. When fasting, make it about your relationship with God and focusing on praying for others besides yourself.

sweetie, it's clear you have never read the bible in any shape. Mathew, Mark, Luke and John narrated the life of Jesus just like any biographer would. They never said they were prophets, no one has ever called them prophets. since Jesus was a prominent social figure in his time, many people wrote about him but only the four were put in the bible since they had contact with him.

Fasting,done properly, does increase one's faith. That's because the body tends to rule naturally, and the fasting applies a discipline to it, so that the strong desires of the soul, and quests of the spirit are magnified. A coarse person might just focus more on the soulful desires they have, e.g. power, and slick off the natural desires, so it could be a bad thing to do, for a coarse soul. (If Mohammed did it, it would maybe make him realize having so many wives was not good, he'd see those flaws of the flesh and rethink, but it also might intensify his desire for power, if that was a strong soul desire - not good. If seeking God however he'd be purified, stop the jihads etc.)

@@collybever Yes, if done properly. Eating a large mass of food before sunrise and after sunset is not proper fasting. It's just rescheduling your meal. It even reported as one of the highest prevalence rates of diabetes as per National Library of Medicine. The Bible commands God’s people to fast on the Day of Atonement, which is a 24-hour period from sunset to sunset (Leviticus 23:27-32). And this is even the shortest. Esther 4:16, where Esther fasted for three days and three nights. Jesus and Moses fasted for 40 days but this is an exception.

For those who can only fast with extreme difficulty, compensation can be made by feeding a needy person ˹for every day not fasted˺. But whoever volunteers to give more, it is better for them.
